Reminds me of the writer of the horror manga PTSD Radio who actually quit writing the series due to how he felt writing it had been haunting him in real life. He came down with multiple illnesses, saw hallucinations and writings on the walls, and was understandably so terrified, he actually ended volume 6 with a epilogue explaining why he unfortunately had to stop.

Its such a strange feeling watching a video essay about a person you know. I met and worked with Jonochrome back in college (graduated 2020). I was always insanely impressed at his skills in art, animation, music, and game design. We worked on multiple class projects together, and I hired him to do some animation in a few of my videos back then. I didn't really keep touch with him unless it was for work, and found out about his controversy through some videos on the internet. Shocked me to hear about what happened. You go through life not thinking that such controversies (or lets face it, mistakes) would happen to someone you know. It still hits me so strangely that I just bumped into this guy who made this thing that so many people remember fondly, and to see how his community has dealt with the controversies or his own distaste for the series. I haven't talked to him in 3 years, so I can't give some cool insider scoops on how his life has been since then. But just commenting to share my perspective. Small world, I suppose.

I purposely left out all of the controversies he was involved with since it’s been touched upon quite heavily in detail, this was just a review of the games themselves. Separating the art from the artist. I can see how it could feel weird seeing a video essay on someone you know especially for knowing them that long.

I enjoy the beauty of ONAF 3. It’s everything a horror game should be. You go through the night, thinking “where’s Flumpty? If I don’t find him, I’ll lose” Then you get the mechanics, thinking “I guess he’s not in this game. Strange. Why wouldn’t he be in his own game?” Then you finish the night, only for it to restart, and you finally realize where Flumpty is, after you’ve already thought he was not going to show up. Brilliance.

My dad is making a game; it's not a FNAF fan game, but it is a game that he has spent 4 years developing. I have noticed my dad's motivation declining and him becoming more tired and stressed about not being able to impress his fans and the people supporting him. I just want everyone to know two things. 1. Be patient and don't stress the developer by constantly asking them about the game and recommending new features. It's hard enough to make a game, and the developer does not need constant feedback (especially hate). 2. Respect that they need to take their time and do one thing at a time.

Dont think u mentioned this but im fairly good w my Jonochrome lore, Flumpty started out as a character in a comic he was making with his friend just for fun and he was added just to completely ignore the plot and do whatever he wants since he's not bound by any rules. Also Jonochrome has struggled with this kinda thing in the past, with a flash series called Riddle School, which was extremely popular back in the day and everyone kept demanding more which made him feel pressured. The final game in the series came out 10 whole years after the previous one and gave it all a very sweet wholesome ending but people kept demanding more once again...

When I played ONAF 3 for the first time, I was at first disappointed by the mechanics. But the more I played, and the more I realized how good they are and how good the game actually is overall. And when you beat that first night for the first time not knowing what's about to happen... that moment is very special, and it made me realize how much Flumpty can actually control time. In ONAF 1, it's not just a joke that after 5 AM it's HAM. You actually DID NOT reach 6 AM. Nor did you reach 6 AM in ONAF 2, you actually survived until SPAM, and until SALAMI in ONAF 3. You really only survive until 6 AM if you beat the hardest and "most unfair" way Flumpty can play against you. Also, one of my favorite part about ONAF 3 is the mental horror it adds. Every single room you are forced to look at on the cams are red/yellow themed, very hot colors indeed, everything is hot on the cams. They are having a good time. Birthday Boy Blam is even enjoying some time with the fire of the chimney. But you... you don't have much fire. You are literally stuck in coldness while being forced to watch hotness. Such sadism can truly only be from an egg...

Something you skipped is the easter eggs you get from beating HBM. In the first game it was nothing much, just a new character "Empty Bempty" who didn't do anything, but in the second game the easter egg was important. You see, it was a newspaper that said how you beat the egg. Under the main text it also said that Flumpty made a monster out of past "players" who died, and this monster is the Eyesaur. There is something more important to the lore there, since it also says how Flumpty killed 100000 birds by throwing a meteorite at earth, giving even more proof that he is a god who can transcend time and space. The incident caused an apocalypse, and this is why when you beat ONAF3 you see the world in ruins. And for beating ONAF3 HBM Flumpty rewards you with changing everything back and giving you the normal life you had. Why? Because you finally reached 6AM! The time in other games was always random funny words like HAM or SPAM, but when beating ONAF3 HBM, the clock finally reaches 6AM! Just wanted to point out some lore that you didnt❤ Nice video

The ending to ONAF 3 kinda reminds me of Dangaronpa Hope Peak the anime, where the ending isn't fully shown but it's implied that humanity behind Hope Peaks Academy walls no longer exists or is in a state of catastrophic disaster.

Yeah I immediately thought of the first Danganronpa game when I saw that ending.

I really love both this video and the ending to it just like the creator ended his games with smile on his face that he made the final game his game and even when he hated the games he made at the end its his little creation and same with this video its your creation its your little piece of art and love and we all know you cant make the same video over and over or the same game over and over and you know what... Well miss you too flumpty

I think the fact that ONAF is hand drawn just hits differently, no 3D models from FNAF (fan) games managed to creep me out as much this far

Tbh i always found Onaf special as a kid. I was a fan of it, then my fnaf phase stopped, but Onaf 3 came out & i came back Ngl, Onaf 3 is easily the best game in the trilogy It finished off things perfectly, has really cool music, levels (Second of which is one of my fav gaming levels) & mechanics "Eggs & Beckon" is underrated as hell Might be my fav horror-related theme

I think a lot of us know that you truly escape Flumpty's realm at like the hardest difficulty in the third game. But i also noticed that at 24:33, the VI is missing from the clock but not in 26:59.

fun fact. flumpty says hes let you go if you made it to 6am but in all the games you never mades it to 6am. he would always warp time at 5am to some wierd word but in 3 hard boiled he finally lets you get to 6am

The need to create stuff that fans want is 100% real. I've seen people give flack for people doing fanart calling it 'lazy and uninspired' which I'll start with saying is entirely BS since it's hardwork regardless of it being original or not. Anyway- fanart is unfortunately the way to gain followers and there's not a lot of wiggle room on other ways as an artist. Either you do fanart or you do lewd stuff. But if you do lewd stuff you get married to that, there's not a lot of wiggle room. I'll post an old piece of fanart and get 300+ likes on it, but post a piece with a similar style & more effort that's entirely original? 3-4 views. It's genuinely draining, especially when you know the people who like your fanstuff would like your original stuff but aren't giving it a chance because it's not filled with the characters they already know. So it's a struggle: Do more original stuff that you love and want to do more of or do fanart- something that's very hard to monetize and can be draining because at the end of the day this isn't entirely yours.
