Season 1 was very good, mostly because of Askeladd. Season 2 was horrible, mostly because of Arnheid, Gardar and Canute. The manga is dumb as fuck now.

I'm gonna sound dorky when I say this, but for many years I tried so hard to be just like Eren Yeager. I saw him as someone with bottomless willpower, someone who always stood up for himself and fought back against his enemies to one day achieve his dream of freedom. However, what I did not realize was that he was motivated by hatred. Even though I was a manga reader, it took me until the anime ended last November to begin realizing that perhaps the path of trying to be exactly like Eren was wrong. Two months later, I watched Vinland Saga. Thorfinn was the exact answer to my questions. I followed Eren's journey for 10 years, and tried to be like him for 4. Though I still highly respect many aspects of him, I now understand that love is the true answer, not hatred. Someone like Thorfinn is who I most want to be like.

Something important to remember about the philosophy of "I have no enemies" is that it only applies to you. It's a measure of how you see the world and how you see other people. Other people may still consider you to be their enemy, and interact with you as such. Your own philosophies likely will not affect what others do to you, especially strangers who don't care what ways of thinking you hold dear. "I have no enemies" only goes one way, between you and the theoretical person opposing you. That person, to YOU, is not someone that you should attack in turn, but someone you are neutral or even friendly to, someone you love even if it is not reciprocated. You can't expect anyone to follow along with your rules, but that doesn't make this philosophy not worth keeping. It's also a philosophy quite similar in many ways to some aspects of the Bible's teachings, which are the ultimate truth and philosophies, and has served as a great stepping-stone for many people.

Yes OPM. Take a look at most protagonists. They are trying their hardest, giving all in while facing every hardships, challenges, plot twists, you name it, to become who they really are or to avenge something. Meanwhile Saitama so OP and he himself doesn't know his true self's potentials. My point is yeah sometimes we want to be the best version of ourselves in general and we develop our POV of life while trying and giving all. Sometimes we need POV like Saitama. Instead of fame, wealth search for coupons and discount and fair deals for fun while being the best.

Nice job! One thing that is worth mentioning is that the philosophy is clearly described to be from Jesus teachings through the series. It mentions verses like ”the one that draws his sword shall by sword”. And Thorfinn spends time listening to the bible when He gets this philosophy that came with missionaries to the vikings. It’s Jesus that taught to ”love thy enemies” and who died for even those that hated him. Without lifting His fingertips, even though He had the power of heaven at His fingertips. Vinland saga has plenty of bible veres mentioned and even written on screen during a paus frame. Vinland is an very clear metaphor for heaven, a place who some believe of, I few hope for, which is a place without war and hatred. That’s what I noticed throughout the series.

I mention this because at the time nujabe's beats were something i listened to consistently back than and i definitely listened to arurian dance because it was something my brother introduced me to when i was little . all of it really ties together and is just apart of not just one but several thoughts that turned into mentality i still carry with me to this day . the saying "I just wanna be a kinder person" held with me to this day and is often a key phrase i think back to when i remember why i started many things . honestly if you read this manga at a young age it would probably be good for you like it did for me . Please i encourage you to read the manga it is a masterpiece and deserves all its recognition but do know the fights aren't what makes the anime amazing funny enough people were going on about the fights not being good enough when it first came out . easily top 3

I no longer follow a religion, but this video made me think about the core values I was taught by the catholic church when I was younger. "I have no enemies" is literally Jesus' way of life. I find it really interesting how Canute converts to Catholicism and goes away from this message, while Thorfinn in the end of season 2 acts as a better Christian than Canute, without being one. When you say this "saved this generation", it made me think about our current western societal trend of people leaving religion (including me, lol) and I'm just now realising that the core values I was taught like kindness, humility and empathy may not be taught to the new generations the same way. We may need a different institution to spread these good values to people (like school for example). As a random note, I see the channel avatar has Sly Cooper's cane and that's awesome! Sly 2 is still my favorite game of all time (nostalgia is powerful).
