This was such a cool video. I cried the whole time. I turn 49 in a couple weeks and I've really been missing some of my loved ones who are gone. People just don't understand how these cars tie us to people and family or in my case,my childhood. There will never be another 70 ls6 chevelle, or 66 big block Corvette, or in my case....me being 8 years old in 1982 going to see my grandmother in those cars. I remember just dreaming that one day I'd own mine. Now those cars are 100k and no amount of money can put my grandmas back in their kitchens again. Thank you for this video and I hope your shelby is coming along.

My dad passed away and left a garage full of British MG cars. We sold two rare 1934 cars that needed too much work and we busy reviving the other two that stood for 10 years and are pretty good still. The memories and the connection I have with these vehicles is priceless. Some of them were in parades with beauty queens on them, they did shows and rallies and were an inregral part of our family. Luckily we saved them from the wolves that thought they could hit my mother with lowball prices.

Such a touching story. It would be wonderful if someone was able to step in and do a car rehab for this sweet lady at no cost to her. So she can enjoy what her husband worked so hard to layout the ground work. My mom just passed and my father was a builder, who fixed everyone else’s houses, even built and repaired churches mostly out of his pocket. He started tearing into their house for a remodel project many years before his retirement and never finished what he had started. She always wanted her home completed but wasn’t able to see it. So it would be nice to see this sweet lady enjoy the fruits of both of their labor. She had to feed him and make sacrifices as well.

But mainly the calmness he received from working with his hands and the knowledge he gained from working on cars. It's the true love of his life and his wife was jealous of it. He loved himself the way it should be. Not a narcissistic way but true loving way. He loved her but lived the fulfillment the work with cars brought him. A absolute true car guy.

So since I was in the junk clearing mindset for my father, I did the same thing for myself. Just get rid of it all. Because if you don’t, someone else will and they are going to just hire a hunk man to toss it all into dumpsters. Believe me, unless you got piles of gold bricks, all the car stuff is worthless. Clothes are worthless. Electronics are worthless. Only good and silver has value. The other stuff is just tons of heavy weights that cost more to dispose of than their value.

@therestorationshop Жыл бұрын
@@thewriter2549 With most cars I would agree. For the Cord I think it might be specific to the buyer. I would buy everything on that side of the shop as is. I'd restore the car and then sell any left over parts. I think the value of the Cord would support a concourse level restoration but I'd let that be the decision of the buyer. You might put it together for organization but I think the reality is that any restorer is going to want everything within 50' of the car.
