My addiction started when I worked as a server and bartender in Calgary. Started playing VLTS after work. Won a quick $500 then the rest is history. Started online 2019 and it’s the worse worse . My life has been in shambles. I can’t believe I have struggled with this addiction for coming up on 19 years. It makes me so angry I have given so much money to companies I despise. It definitely a lonely shitty road. Definitely finding this channel and hearing all the stories is very helpful. I’m sorry to everyone who has had to deal with this. I agree so much that any celebrity that promotes this garbage has sold their souls to the devil. How anyone with good conscience could promote these money grabbing companies that ruin so many peoples lives. I will never understand.

I really feel like GAMBLING should be on the addiction list right next to drugs and alcohol. First comment on your contents Rob, your doing great in helping people by the way thank you, so on the point of tracking when she mentioned how the casino may see you through and your reactions, i support this statement fully, why? So i used these slot machines at the bookies or highway service stations, ones the was a problem with one of the machine i was on and usually they have 1 or 2 staffs there just to monitor the area, cash, etc so i accidentally walked into the operation room and i saw about 30 screens with cctv and through the actual machines itself! So the machine recognises the faces that plays on them and captures everything, i always had that question in my head why is it when i play somewhere for the first couple of times i win but then when i go back to that particular place i don't even win any amounts, it'll be all losing losing straightaway, happened many times and i was actually thinking there's a face recognition camera on those machines but i couldn't be certain, the machine knows you been there before and played so it automatically take your money in a very obvious and clear way you can tell you don't get a chance of winning anything! I hope this help people out there and you can make a video about this subject to help others Rob. Thanks, from the UK.

I honestly don't think there is such a thing as "healthy gambling." It's true that not everybody who gambles gets addicted. But gambling, at its essence, is trying to acquire someone else's money. And that same person wants to get yours. It's called "theft by mutual consent." There is an avaricious, aggressive quality to betting. This activity does not feed the better parts of our natures.

I definitely believe that slots have face recognition cameras. They know exactly who is playing even when you don't play with your card and your cell phone is off. Security once told me I can't play slots with my hoody hat on. I turned to him and asked why not? He said we need to be able to recognize who you are in the casino. I said really? Then what about all these idiots walking around here with baseball caps, dark glasses, and masks. He said the casino knows who those weirdos are. The casino is a thief, and they need to know who they are stealing from.

Disagree. People who gamble compulsively many times is NOT about the money. Money is just a means of risk/reward. Main reasons people who are problem gamblers...escape from reality, depression, boredom, & most of all the "juice" that gambling can bring upon the person who wants the "rush" of gambling.

I know many people who lost their life's savings in the stock market and real estate, should we ban those too?
