In this documentary, narrated by the author of the book Phantom of the Brain - V Ramachandran [ amzn.to/1Ulg73K ] explains the case of a man suffering from Temporal Lobe Epilepsy(TLE).
This gentleman, due to the damage to his temporal lobes, was suffering from seizures. However, after his seizures calmed down he would feel an extraordinary significance in everything he observed. He felt some sort of a oneness with nature and sometimes claimed of being omnipotent, of being God himself.
This raises a question; could many prophets who have had similar experiences been afflicted by TLE? Here is an discussion whether Prophet Muhammad was also suffering from TLE - / the_prophet_muhammad_a...
Is it possible that Ramakrishna(Guru of Swami Vivekananda) also suffered from TLE?
en.wikipedia.o...
In autobiography of a Yogi, Swami Yogananda also makes similar claims about having visions (or what we can call delusions) and claims seeing his master/guru after his death. How about all the other prophets who made similar claims. Could they be TLE patients also?
Note - The carry forward explanation for the end of the first documentary 12:56 is at 20:02

On the other side of the spectrum, I have severe ADD and ADHD. I can't feel anything but depression, pain and anxiety and when I take amphetamine I know its an illusion but I can see colours again and feel happy. But that's only on high doses. "illegal" doses. If I take valium or something like that I feel nothing. And that is also heaven for me. I appreciate you writing about your illness. Isn't it funny how my/our own brains can be our worst enemy? Take care my friend 😊

| don't understand why finding a point in a brain which makes us "feel" the god proves it is an illusion of god and not for example a part which would be working in similar way as radio receiver. Stuart Hameroff explains his theory more like we have parts in brain which might be "catching" the waves on non-local consciousness.

Just link in Epicurus from 300 years before christ and you'll see the truth: “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” The existence of evil in the world is just insurmountable. In 4 sentences Epicurus lays religious beliefs in a god to waste forever. And then when you add the single case of Josef Fritzl, well then it's game over for god. So now today, we're finding out, as in this video, reasons why people fall for these beliefs...

@@brianmi40 I understand your disposition, and religious ideas can always be logically analyzed. But that's as far as your comment goes. Calling God a "He" or labeling it with any gender is found in all religious doctrine. You've merely disproven the logic of Dogma within religions, but haven't explored what God means, could mean, or to see if such a higher force of energy even exists, and if so (obviously) how does it work? From what I've learned about "God" in my life, To say God doesn't exist is to say the exact same scientific evidence you use to disprove it doesn't either. God is proven through science, quantum mechanics, chemistry, math, neuroscience, even through philosophy and metaphysics, being, nature. You know, shit we can actually see for ourselves. By studying ourselves, we realize we work with functions of a higher intelligence, way smarter than what you think you are, ok? Than What we think we are. The Ego(Satan) will be man's greatest downfall. Shame. Peace. Honestly, I think we should stop using the word "God" all together. It's been corrupted, and most people using it don't know what they're talking about.

This is quite a nice video. The content of the video doesn't even advance the faulty assumption of delusion as the originator of religion or belief in God as the title insinuate 😅. Here is some broad take away from the video: 1) From Minute 0 to about Minute 15; the video speaks about the story if John, a young man who was not religious but started to have temporal lobe seizures. After the seizure, he started believing that he was himself God. And not that he started believing in God. It is a sad story. I'm glad he got the necessary medical help from his brain seizure. 2) from about min 15 to min 21; the brain psychiatrist made a public presentations of his hypothesis on brain function in the case of people who have temporal lobe (brain) seizure. He gave 3 hypothesis: The first one is that patients with brain seizures really do have a mystical religious experience or get in contact with a divine entity. He concludes that as a scientist, he can't prove or disprove that this was really happening (min 14:30). He also states that 30-40% of patients with brain seizures have some beliefs in God but the majority of those who have brain issues (i.e schizophrenia) don't believe in God (I was wondering if he had in mind atheist patients!? He didn't tell). The second is also similar to first one, where the lobe unaffected by seizures over compensate for the lobe undergoing seizure by attributing teleological meaning from a transcendent realm, which indeed come in contacts with the patient. He unfortunately also said he can't scientifically prove or disprove the correctness of this hypothesis. The last one is really interesting since it was an appeal to naturalistic explanation of a possible space in the brain that makes people more in tune with spiritual realm. He quickly disabuse the audience that there is no such a biological place that he may know of. This didn't seem to please two atheists that I recognized in the audience (Dr. Shermer and Dr. Dawkins). He concluded that his research has, and I quote, _"no bearing on whether God really exist or not"_ (Min 21:30). Since his research has no bearing on God's existence, one can not rationally conclude that belief in God is delusional based on his research. Clearly Dr. Richard Dawkins wasn't either pleased or satisfied since he stood up to ask the question on the microphone. 🤣 His question was about a skin test response that was done on the patient with brain seizures versus 'normal' people. The Psychiatrist clarified to Dawkins that 'normal' people who are both religious and atheist don't react to the psychological stimulus the way the 'brain seizures' patients responded. 😇 This leads me to conclude that who ever put the title to this video didn't even watch the video or he used it as a click-bait title to make people click his video for more views, since the content of the video is unrelated to the false claim that delusion causes belief in God.

God is not a delusion, it is a concept that there must be a creator for a creation that surpasses our own human capacities. Because we are slowly discoveries secrets of Nature and developing technologies, we are questioning more and more the need for this concept. Yet we are far from being gods, yet. Early on humans felt we were created in the image of god because of our intelligence and our ability to modify our environment. Still it is narcissist to believe we are smarter then the Nature that gave birth to us. So careful not to laugh of those that still believe in a higher intelligence associated with the concept of God, for you may be the real delusional by your ego. But I do not believe in religion of revelation and I am starting to doubt that there is a God that is able to intervene in our life. That does not disproof the existence of a higher force responsible for our creation. This is why I do not adhere to the atheist movement that ridicules other people beliefs as I do not fall in the trap anymore of those who follow blindly a supposedly revealed book.

Expressing that God may be a delusion doesn't prove the person expressing the opinion thinks he or she's immune to a delusion. You can acknowledge that there is a possibility of an all powerful creator and simply choose not to believe anything beyond a possibility. To some that makes a person delusional and that's fine. God is a delusion is an opinion. There's no need to protect those who're called delusional. They can likely take it with a grain of salt. They're not being persecuted at all.

I'd assume that *Anneliese Michel* suffered from TLE. She is the German student who died in 1976 after some insane clergyman had brought up the idea that she was obsessed by satan and maltreated her with his stupid religious mumbo jumbo. (Anneliese Michel's case was the inspiration for the movie "The Exorcist", feat. Linda Blair.) Unfortunately (at least to my knowledge) her parents refused any contact with medical institutions, so there are no detailed clinical data available

@seivaDsugnA 8 жыл бұрын
That might be the purpose of the title. If so, it's biased. I don't think religion is a mental illness, but a product of the way our minds work and of our socialization. Profound supernatural experiences however could certainly be symptoms of seizures, brain injury, illness, or chemical imbalances. People will naturally try to make sense of these delusions from their understanding of reality.

Sean Hannold What I meant by "supernatural experiences" are hallucinations or psychosis. Religious ideation occurs in many rational people that have no symptoms of pathology. I understand what you mean. An illness however, is whatever society wants it to be. If everyone were autistic then it wouldn't even be recognized as a disorder. If society shifts away from believing in religion then it would be seen as an illness. Religion is, to me, a substitute for reason of existence, one that was created so long ago by man to create order. In order to explain things they used their imagination to make up for the lack of scientific evidence. Their imaginations created religious beliefs which were made as gap fillers for what science has not discovered. This is still the same today as imagination is used to replace reason but society seems it acceptable for them to use their imaginations rather than scientific reason to make explanations for reality.

Humans are exceedingly arrogant, we think that we are so much better than other animals even though they share so many of the same traits as us and we just have a higher level of self awareness. At least we think. But primates, squids, dolphins, and whales etc. are extremely complex and have social functions, empathy, and mutualism, and there are some very interesting examples for all three of those (look some stuff up on it). Just because we are slightly better than other animals doesn't mean that we are here for any real objective purpose. We make our own purpose in life. Life is whatever you want to see it as, and simultaneously meaningless. That's why we made god. It is much more comforting (for at least some individuals) that we know exactly what we are here for and that what we are working towards has "objective" meaning for the sake our own egos. I honestly get why so many people believe in god and fear death, but personally eternity seems like a hellish concept and I would prefer life to be transient. Because if in the end, you are going to heaven anyways, why would you care about what happens to you here on earth? After all when you compare 70 years to ∞, 70 years becomes completely insignificant and literally infinitely small. Just some food for thought. I respect whatever ideology comforts someone, unless they are straight up discrediting scientific research and empirical data and or harming someone else by doing so.

Yeah, spot on. We've even electrically stimulated the brain to create this feeling in test subjects! Now if we can just genetically "cut this out" of the brain and load a virus with this genetic manipulation we could one day have more peace on earth, however, have to keep the scientists from not putting in something equally bad! ;0 Oh well, the Singularity will probably get us anyway. I just don't see any way through that for us. Whether purposeful or accidental, the ineventuality of knowledge or an AI far beyond even our ability to understand it just has too much probability to do us in. Bottom line for me is, evolution hasn't moved (and just can't...) as fast as technology. So we're still too inclined to greed and killing each other to rule over the world to be anywhere near to handle what's coming safely...

Singularitywise? Yeah, just don't see how we get through this, and I'm not some nutjob wearing a tin foil hat... But when you read Radical Evolution by Joel Garreau and when he lays out the "GRIN" technologies and their dangers: G-enetics R-obotics I-nformation Technology (AI) N-ano Technology Each one of these is on a path that can essentially put something akin to the atom bomb in a layman's hands, to say nothing of accidents while experimenting ("...we missed a line of code int the Nanobots telling them to reproduce, and they're consuming the entire earth so fast we can't get through to them to tell them to stop...). Just take a single example: the CRISPR Gene Editing tool: www.theverge.com/2016/4/20/11450262/crispr-base-editing-single-nucleotides-dna-gene-liu-harvard And combine that with the PRICE COMING DOWN to where "you'll soon be able to order one on Amazon Prime" (remember, you heard it here first... :) And then realize EVERY SINGLE TRANSHUMANIST wants to buy one of these and start playing with their DNA www.huffingtonpost.com/news/transhumanism/ and then realize that doing so should enable someone to realize (just one quick example, we'll just temporarily skip everything DARPA is already funded or tried to do in the past like enable a soldier to hold their breath for 1/2 hour...): a. the strength of an ants muscles: they can lift 1000 times their weight: www.insidescience.org/content/ants-are-even-stronger-you-imagine/1567 So when Livestrong says: the average untrained man can squat 125 pounds, bench press 135 pounds and deadlift 155 pounds. Imagine just an "average" man being able to lift 155,000 pounds, if the full 1,000 times can be achieved, or even 15,500 pounds if just 1/10th of that can be achieved. Just on that alone, all sports competitions are changed forever. We would have to test DNA like testing for Steroids. And then there'll be all the new sports, like shotputting across the ocean..... ! But I can't stop myself from thinking that somewhere in the Middle East some ISIS nutjob gets a CRISPR and we have something like Zyka/Aids/Avian Flu/Marberg Virus/Ebola ALL ROLLED INTO ONE in easy to dispense tablet form... Hey I live a normal life, but when I walk these mental exercises, and realize how greedy and sick individuals are on this planet towards each other.... I dunno. I tell my daughter, if Sarah Conner pulls up in her driveway and says "come with me if you want to live", that she better get in the damn car one day!

C.S. Lewis in his book Mere Christianity writes the following: “I am trying here to prevent anyone from saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him [Jesus Christ]: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept his claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with a man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the Devil of hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that option open to us. He did not intend to.” So, who did Jesus claim to be? Who does the Bible say He is? First, let's look at Jesus’ words in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.” At first glance, this might not seem to be a claim to be God. However, look at the Jews’ reaction to His statement, “‘We are not stoning you for any of these,’ replied the Jews, ‘but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God’” (John 10:33). The Jews understood Jesus’ statement as a claim to be God. In the following verses, Jesus never corrects the Jews by saying, “I did not claim to be God.” That indicates Jesus was truly saying He was God by declaring, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). John 8:58 is another example: “‘I tell you the truth,’ Jesus answered, ‘before Abraham was born, I am!’” Again, in response, the Jews took up stones in an attempt to stone Jesus (John 8:59). Jesus’ announcing His identity as “I am” is a direct application of the Old Testament name for God (Exodus 3:14). Why would the Jews again want to stone Jesus if He had not said something they believed to be blasphemous, namely, a claim to be God? John 1:1 says “the Word was God.” John 1:14 says “the Word became flesh.” This clearly indicates that Jesus is God in the flesh. Thomas the disciple declared to Jesus, “My Lord and my God” (John 20:28). Jesus does not correct him. The apostle Paul describes Him as, “…our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13). The apostle Peter says the same, “…our God and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:1). God the Father is witness of Jesus’ full identity as well, “But about the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.’” Old Testament prophecies of Christ announce His deity, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). So, as C.S. Lewis argued, believing Jesus to be only a good teacher is not an option. Jesus clearly and undeniably claimed to be God. If He is not God, then He is a liar, and therefore not a prophet, good teacher, or godly man. In attempts to explain away the words of Jesus, modern “scholars” claim the “true historical Jesus” did not say many of the things the Bible attributes to Him. Who are we to argue with God’s Word concerning what Jesus did or did not say? How can a “scholar” two thousand years removed from Jesus have better insight into what Jesus did or did not say than those who lived with, served with, and were taught by Jesus Himself (John 14:26)? Why is the question over Jesus’ true identity so important? Why does it matter whether or not Jesus is God? The most important reason that Jesus has to be God is that if He is not God, His death would not have been sufficient to pay the penalty for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). Only God could pay such an infinite penalty (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus’ deity is why He is the only way of salvation. Jesus’ deity is why He proclaimed, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus, the Christ LOVES you and is waiting for you to fully repent and call upon His Holy Name as Lord and SAVIOR, this is all it take for ones Salvation!!! God bless us all...

Numerous people have had encounters with the spiritual realm without having seizures or any other unusual circumstances. For example, one of the encounters I had with Yeshua happened in the very place I am sitting now while I was wide awake and at my computer as I am now. During a seizure the natural barriers to the spiritual realm are often removed which causes people to have such experiences. I have met Yeshua ("Jesus") a number of times over the past 25 years. He is real, He is alive, He has spoken to me, and I have spoken to Him. Each encounter was unexpected and unique. Search KZbin for "Jesus encounter" and you will see He has appeared to atheists, Jews, Muslims, etc...

theres good reason why a single individual who lives in a religious culture who claims a vision of thier culture, but noone else sees these visions of thier god. its because its nothing more than a hallucenation, none of these visions of gods are real. if there was a real god then he would just appear to multitudes of people in plain sight to give direct instruction/revelation to the people he wants to instruct. so everytime a prophet appears in the bible every so often and claimed to get a vision or hears the voice of thier cultures god(hebrew god), it was never real, it was a auditory/visual hallucenation. this happens with every culture that believes in vision, its always one individual in the culture who claims to see the god of thier cultures religion yet noone besides these individuals who are seeing these things gets to see this god, but because noone in old times knew about these mental health symptoms so they would take these individuals seriously and before you know it thier stories of these visions end up in scripture and now several thousands of years later people are still taking these individuals seriously and still no god ever appears to more than one individual at a time. religions are purely manmade. if a real god existed and wanted to give instruction to us he would appear to everyone at the same time and tell us directly what to believe. it has never happened because there is no such thing as a god who interacts with man kind.

The temporal lobe has only developed in humans. So if the temporal lobe is the cause of believing in higher dimensional beings then it seems that only animals would not be able to. The temporal lobe is an addition through evolution then it seems people who deny higher life forms must be not fully evolved. It makes sense then that the light given on day one is the knowledge of God, which separates man from animal.

As far as now in quantum physics we are starting to believe the universe is 96% dark matter and dark energy. Invisible matter that has spread the universe at a rapid pace faster than the speed of light. The theory of the 4th dimension and most of the universe being invisible to us has become known to us. Higher dimension theorized to not be bounded by our 3rd dimensional plane. The knowledge of higher dimensional beings would be inconceivable to us. It would be like a two dimensional being describing the 3rd dimensions. Watch Carl Sagan's 4th Dimension/ Flatlands.

I have no idea what that has to do with any argument relating to God unless your just trying to argue that there are things we don't understand or can percieve (duh). Also, why would a fourth dimension connote some advanced dimensional being? And why would that 4th dimensional being care anymore about us as an artist might care for a drawing. Are there beings in the 1st or 2nd dimension? Can 1 dimension even theoretically exist? And why stop at four dimensions? Current theological standards label my beliefs as atheist. However, while most believers fail to consider the necessary limitations in the human sensory-perceptual intake as well as the limitations on brain size and, more importantly, the size of the skull relative to the birth canal, we humans lack the sensory input, the perceptual distribution capacity, and the brain processing abilities to sense most of the universe, no less even construct a hypothesis that the still inexplicable mysteries of the universe proves there is a god. However, that cuts both ways. The necessary limitations of the human body, which includes the brain, for survival and eventual dominance over a large segment of the immediate threats in the environment, does not preclude the possible existence of god, what it does is deny us the physical ability to develop a mind capable of collecting all of the necessary data and even if we possessed the sensory ability to collect all of the necessary data, physical reality prevents homosapiens from evolving a brain large enough to project a mind with the intelligence to analyse the data in which we can construct a hypothesis, then build a mathematical theory, and finally, build an experiment that proves it. In other words, we cannot prove the existence of god nor can we prove that there is no god. Either way, it's a fool's errand. Therefore, knowing that we lack the physical and intellectual capacity to prove or disprove the existence of god, hearsay claims of god's existence are false and the same is true of alleged scientific claims that god does not exist. As for institutions build on hearsay, these are constructs of the want for dominance and power. Thus, I am not an atheist. I am a realist.

Science and Truth 2 Rock "What we can't study are invisible monkeys and gods, because both are one and the same." then obviously u haven't been getting ur information from the correct sources if u actually believe that...this has been studied, in various laboratories and foundations, for many decades now...thru quite a number of approaches...and yet somehow u are not aware of this...many credible scientists as well as medical personnel as well as engineers as well as physicists have been involved in this research since the 1970's at least... as i asked someone quite recently which type of evidence would u like, the mechanical based evidence for this universal matrix, the consciousness based evidence (similar to those dreams u spoke of) , the theoretical based evidence, the physical first hand experience based evidence, or the physicist type evidence...plasma, nuclear, quantum, or acoustical based to name a few... I still think the direct experience is the best place to start...but hey it's ur call...and by the way this sentence is obviously nonsensical: " If it's not peer reviewed, it never happened." as this would negate the fact that u happened, as well as ur mother and ur father...yet they are not peer reviewed...but as we are speaking of peer review we should discuss the entities that decide which material is peer review material and which is not...can u name their credentials, can u name their conflicts of interests, can u name their editing process, can u name their affiliations, can u name their historical accuracy looking back upon their decisions and see how inaccurate their track record is (particularly in regards to cutting edge science and medicine), can u cite the % of perceived peer reviewed validated scientific models that have since been completely discredited (roughly 99% by the way)...so if I were u I would certainly be very cautious speaking of that peer review process, for if one blind man's model is validated by 99 other blind men than 1 man with clear vision would make them all seem quite illogical indeed...this is what clear thinking and deeper information understanding do to models based upon half truths...and the scientific community is built upon the mountain of half truths, as history has clearly shown beyond any shadow of a doubt...as they themselves admit...yes the scientific methodology is good, no the scientific methodology is not valid in 995 of cases, only partially valid and the invalid portion overwhelmingly negates the validated assumptions, my son..and why would u need other men and women to validate what u feel is valid, why...is this insecurity, is it the pressure of society upon u, is it that u feel that u cannot discern more truth from less truth...why do u need another man to tell u what is more true...for that very man is basing his own assumptions upon incomplete and faulty data 99% of the time...as history has already shown u... think...u never understand the nature of the box while u are still inside of it... ur friend, abracadabra

The fact that there is no free, independent thought is not a problem for self-named “free thinkers” and they see no irony in that. Such unwavering devotion to (un)belief. Unscathed by logic or contradicting evidence, their faith is envy of the world.

Well they demonstrably are delusions. Also since humans' brains can be quite unreliable, it would be insane to even consider an intelligent "god" using humans as middlemen to relay messages. Our brains have evolved not only to do pattern matching (such that people will find patterns even in random noise), but also to detect agency - even if there is none. Especially children are prone to that, or people that reason child-like. I do not see how free will is relevant here, especially without a detailed definition.

Well said. Atheist arguments are overwhelmingly reductionist and straw man IME. Basically a manifestation of the trolling phenomenon that has taken over society. Similar to folks who call every new therapy in medicine quackery because it is not funded by big pharma, but then are missing when things like the Vioxx or WHI scandals take place. In the absence of evidence, we have to reason from first principles, intuition and analogy. The bottom line is this: clearly something is going on, and we don't know why. Effects do not happen without causes. And we don't know where consciousness comes from or where it ends up. John, yes we recognize patterns, but this is because sometimes there are patterns. This is how science works as well. There is a difference between psychological p-hacking and the Monte Carlo method, but to an untrained eye they appear identical.

Jak Vokun-Sos hey u also mentioned DMT...I could possibly help u out there with the explanation of its' mechanism of action, and i will attempt to keep it as brief as possible while conveying the more salient points hopefully...a copy paste from another forum I post on... ~ the way the NN DMT (there is also a common molecular-chemical form referred to as 5 MEO-DMT that is similar but not the same) works is via DISABLING ur 5 electrical senses which give ur local consciousness its' body centric setting and central nervous system mediated form of ur current sense of reality...in this way, NN DMT emulates the transition from ur veiled and separated localized consciousness experience from ur larger more aware form of non local consciousness, via bypassing the veil system...BOTH forms of consciousness are yours...the local and the non local...one is FINITE, THE OTHER IS INFINITE...the finite one is finite because it is veiled behind a body which requires an adequate electromagnetic current to hold this veil in place...and when this body suffers trauma, then that consistent adequate electromagnetic veil system is disrupted, thus the larger more primary form of consciousness is now the primary form, as this veil has lost the energy required to keep it in place, the veil that divides u from UUU......the larger non local form of consciousness is the MORE primary form of ur eternal consciousness, the portion that is ALWAYS ON...THE SUBSET LOCALIZED FORM OF CONSCIOUSNESS, BEHIND THIS ELECTROMAGNETIC VEIL, U ARE CURRENTLY USING TO READ THIS MESSAGE IS THE SECONDARY DERIVATIVE FORM OF CONSCIOUSNESS...though it appears primary at this moment, because this is the subset experience u wished to experience...IT IS MEANT FOR FOCUSED AWARENESS FOR EXPERIENTIAL PURPOSES...this is why ppl such as Nathan here refer to THAT larger form of conscious reality as "HOME"...BECAUSE IT IS...this form of consciousness here and now is ur experienced reality subset, like a vacation from ur eternal reality...and u are going to learn many things from this experience here and now, as u already know...and this is why this current reality frame experience is derived from ur 5 electrical to digital senses which then are tied in to ur central processing unit known as ur brain, which then recreates this experience holographically... in essence, this experience of reality is an interactive virtual reality WITHIN THE LARGER REALITY...a literal subset...and this is when u "die" this death is defined as "LACK OF ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY WITHIN THE HEART OR BRAIN, WITH NO ELECTRICAL PULSE LEFT"...at which time u are freed from the subset version of reality, the version behind the veil of electromagnetism which compresses energy into form for this experience...the energy requirements for this field compression which dominates and orchestrates the particle atomic structure within that field is derived from this very electrical activity which I speak of as the definition of "physical life" itself...thus "physical death" is again defined via the LACK of this electrical pulsed activity within the field that corresponds to the heart and or brain particles within that resonant field which govern their activity...substances such as DMT disrupt, temporarily, this field intensity as well as its' pulse activity in regards to the Pineal body's relationship with this field...thus the perception of the reality experienced, within that field only, undergoes mutation from the ordinary perception to an alternate perception of the electromagnetic energy external to, and interactive with, this field and the particles governed within it including the 5 electrical sensory apparatus which interpret the electromagnetic energy external to, and interactive with, this field's sensory input...again, this is all simply because reality itself is subjective in nature, not objective, and this subjectivity is wholly derived via the 5 electrical sensory input that is then decoded and interpreted holographically via what is referred to as the brain, which itself is but an internal holographic construct decoding external holographic input and information...DMT in its' active form, would be analogous to the remote control to ur television set, and the channel u are viewing has just been changed...the television itself has gone nowhere, but the wave form information, the channel frequency has simply been changed to a different channel...and the observer is still sitting on his couch watching the very same television, nothing else has changed except the information received...all other individual fields of consciousness, other people, cannot view that channel unless they also have access to this remote, because their own 5 electrical senses are stuck on only one channel, and this one channel is ubiquitous to all human beings' senses, just as channel 6 on ur television is ubiquitous to all viewers watching that channel, they are all viewing the very same information no matter where they are bc the tv's decoding mechanisms are all ubiquitous, so they all decode the very same experience as long as the waves of information are within their tv's range of reception...it gets very complicated so I hope this brief explanation helps guys...ur body = very advanced biological tv set with 5 senses but only 1 channel to view, DMT = remote to change the channel... ur friend, abracadabra

abracadabrascotty I honestly had to read that a few times to fully grasp what you mean. Can I ask your sources for this? Personal Hypothesis? However with understanding your explanation , I respectfully disagree with the almost meta-physical nature of it. Considering my personal experiences, I identify the feeling of true reality simply as an enhancement of certain senses and systems or in some cases repression of them, giving a window to an alternate perception this subjective reality.

@Calvin Harrison It just shows you have NO clue what you're talking about. Life in it's most basic form is just chemistry. This chemistry can come about by natural means through emergent complexity that DOES NOT require a "creator". Seriously, DNA & RNA sequencing are well known sciences in today's modern world, both which are theorised to have played a part in forming the chemicals that gave birth to life. And fine, you CAN stick the "God" sticker on it if you really want to. But which God and which version of God are you sticking the creator sticker on? The Muslim Allah from the Qu'ran? The Christian Father from the Bible. If you're a monotheist, these (and including Judaisim) are the only options. The books in which this God character was born from have all since been disproved as mortal works as they get things wrong that would not happen if they actually had a divine author. So what? You have a God that only exists in myths and stories and from books that have since been proven to be human works. What else do you have, apart from your own incredulty and belief in the supernatural? Whenever humans have had a "supernatural" explanation for ANYTHING - it has always turned out to be wrong. Primitives hear thunder + Don't know what it is + Apply magic = It's a spirit. No, turns out it's natural. Primitives hear a sound in the forest? Don't know what it is + Apply magic = It's a phantom. No, turns out it's natural. How did life, the universe and everything start? Don't know how or what it is + Apply magic = It's God(s). And, as the pattern shows, when we DO one day learn and if we do, the truth of it will render our belief in God(s), magic and spirits laughable - but there's always people like you who are either too afraid to ask questions that are too hard or too dumb enough. Get a grip. Reality is waiting for you.

@Calvin Harrison How can you even say that it's a fact, since this either shows you don't know what a fact is or are being dishonest. A fact is something you can show to be true, verify, show the worth of something. Do that, without making any logical fallicies, without any arguments, show one fact that you can prove for "God" that cannot be explained by a non supernatural explanation.
@mrsonicblah1
@mrsonicblah1 5 жыл бұрын
@Calvin Harrison You didn't give me a fact, but a logical fallacy, like I asked you not to. But that's okay, we're just chatting :) But anyway, how can you first assume that life was "created"? What merit or justification convinced you that reality is a creation? Yes, a creation requires a creator. I agree. But does reality require a "realator?" And again, how can you outright claim "creation"? You say this with no proof, no evidence. You can then say ANYTHING and I can do it too. Life is a creation made by the invisible, undetectable alien king, proof of this being is you even being concious in the first place. You see how the claim does not justify the tiny logical fallacy I am giving you as proof? Same thing here. So, you didn't answer my question. But dug a deeper hole. If this is all you're going to do, I don't wanna carry on replying, and you oughtta do the same bud.

Michael Dodds "I see plenty evidence that god cannot exist, the god of the bible would not have allowed the christian church to devastate whole communities in His name like it did over the centuries.", that's hardly evidence. And I believe it all has to do with free will. "If a god existed then any moral god would simply have said "Not In My Name" and put a stop to it.", it would be immoral for God to be our dictator instead of giving us the freedom to choose to do good and evil. Of course there's no scientific/physical evidence for God and there never will be. Material evidence for an immaterial supreme being is a misnomer. In which case, we'd be obligated to follow or futilely defy (a relationship should ever be out of obligation). And thanks.
@Ozone280
@Ozone280 8 жыл бұрын
paradisecityX0 I'm not talking just material evidence. ANY evidence would do. The problem with IMMATERIAL (supernatural) evidence of god is that it's not disprovable. This gives its supporters unlimited licence to offer any sort of attributes they want, safe in the knowledge that each fantastic claim is totally safe from being questioned. There are 2 main claims of religions that are just too outrageous to be acceptable for me. 1 Blind Faith. I find it incredible that a sentient god would expect this of his slaves, the stakes are too high. If hell exists for disbelievers then it's incumbent upon god to ensure that his slaves are fully aware of the choices before them - and the consequences. To me, the concept of Blind Faith is a construction of early religious leaders to stop awkward questions, and it's now become a tenet of belief simply because there is NO evidence for religious belief. 2 Eternal life. This is so blatantly a lie to attract followers that I find it astonishing that normally sensible people can accept it's truth. To seriously say that everyone who has ever heard and accepted the word of god is now living eternally in heaven is just plain daft. What about the untold millions who lived before the biblical god? The untold millions who lived in other parts of the world? The untold millions of infants who died? These two basic tenets of religion are the two main reasons I reject it. Yet without these two lies, religion wouldn't last another generation. Added to that are the creationists, who will stop at nothing to force their beliefs on anyone they are able. Their dogged denial of proven science is little short of pathetic. Finally, if a perfect god watched on and approved that awful bible then it's a god no person with a semblance of morality would want anything to do with. If it's not the word of god of course, then it's just the words of men - en with an agenda. Either way I find it an unpleasant read. If god existed then none of this would be necessary. And you're welcome :)
@paradisecityX0
@paradisecityX0 8 жыл бұрын
+Michael Dodds Blind faith isn't faith at all, it's fidiesm. Faith itself is defined in Hebrews 11:1. And how is eternal life a "blatant lie"? How could you possibly know this? It's blatantly overconfident to assert nothing happens. And all those who died and never heard of God, that's pretty much explained in Romans. "Yet without these two lies, religion wouldn't last another generation.", again, lies are deliberate. And hate to break it to you but that's not gonna happen. There's always gonna be religion in one way or another, it's human nature. Also you mention young earth creationists...I would just ignore them. "if a perfect god watched on and approved that awful bible then it's a god no person with a semblance of morality would want anything to do with", then might I suggest you get to know people of faith (those who know the bible) and look into some commentaries.

The idea of God being a delusion is promoted by Richard Dawkins, the world’s chief apostle for atheism. Dawkins has been Professor of the Public Understanding of Science at Oxford University since 1996. In his 2006 book The God Delusion, Dawkins labels God and belief in God as “delusions.” Dawkins is a gifted writer, and his position at a leading university in the English-speaking world gives him great prestige in intellectual, cultural, and political circles. His atheism is fierce. The jacket of The God Delusion calls the God of the Old Testament “a sex-obsessed tyrant” and the deistic god of the 18th-century Enlightenment a “more benign (but still illogical) Celestial Watchmaker.” Belief in God, says Dawkins, subverts science and knowledge, breeds ignorance, foments bigotry, and abuses children. All this happens for the simple reason that God is a delusion. Not only are “fundamentalists” unintelligent for “know[ing] they are right because they have read the truth in a holy book,” but even moderation in faith, says Dawkins, “fosters fanaticism.” There are plenty of intelligent answers to Dawkins’ contention that God is a delusion and to his crusade against all things religious. Dawkins firmly asserts that God is a delusion, but the Bible just as firmly states that God is not a delusion. Psalm 14:1-3, for example, says, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” Fools who deny the existence of God are corrupt, and so are their deeds. Because their understanding is also corrupt, “they do not seek after God.” Note that the Bible and Dawkins are directly opposed to one another. Dawkins says there is no God and that people who believe in God do terrible things. The Bible says there is a God, and it is rather the people who deny God who do terrible things. God is not the delusion; atheism is. The apostle Paul declares that the reason people who deny God are able to gain and maintain such large followings, as Dawkins has, is that the human race in general is lost in sin and self-delusion. People naturally seek after those whose rhetoric reflects their own self-delusion. Those who deny God follow eagerly after Dawkins and his ilk because they share a common hatred for God (2 Timothy 4:3). The denial of God is the true delusion, a delusion that extends to the atheist’s view of humanity as “good,” all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding. A sober assessment of human beings recognizes that we lie, cheat, steal, lust, complain, envy, hate, and forget and that we are careless, ruthless, disrespectful, resentful, and loveless. We are all these things naturally from birth. This is what God means when He says, “There is no one who does good” (Psalm 14:3). We are so obviously sinful that it is silly to call human beings “good.” Nobody teaches children to lie; they do it naturally. Nobody teaches teenage boys to lust; they do it naturally. Nobody teaches the employee to resent his boss or spread malicious gossip about the coworker with whom he is competing for a promotion; he does these things naturally. Nobody teaches the wife to unjustly criticize her husband or the husband to neglect his wife; both do these things naturally. Yet in the sixth chapter of The God Delusion, entitled “The Roots of Morality: Why Are We Good?” Dawkins explains why human beings are good-based on nothing more than his own opinion-despite the fact that there is no God who can define what is “good.” Dawkins not only directly opposes the Bible’s teaching but he denies what is obvious to even the most casual observer of human nature and behavior. The ninth chapter of The God Delusion is called “Childhood, Abuse and the Escape from Religion.” In this chapter Dawkins replies to a question about clergy sexual abuse: “Horrible as sexual abuse no doubt was, the damage was arguably less than the long-term psychological damage inflicted by bringing the child up Catholic in the first place” (page 317). Human beings are good, says Dawkins, and even the sexual abuse they perpetrate is better than a religion that tells them they are not good. How he explains the desire for “good” men-priests or otherwise-to sexually abuse children is a mystery. The Bible, however, does explain it. Men do evil because their hearts are evil (Matthew 12:35), and unless men are made new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), they will continue to do evil because it is their natural inclination (Romans 3:5-6, 10-11). Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary defines delusion as “something that is falsely or delusively believed or propagated; a persistent false psychotic belief regarding the self or persons or objects outside the self that is maintained despite indisputable evidence to the contrary; also, the abnormal state marked by such beliefs.” The last clause is significant: intellectual and moral delusion have permanent effects on the mind and heart. Believing lies causes the mind to begin to operate abnormally and to exist in a state that is not healthy and perhaps even dangerous, both for itself and for others. This is what the Bible calls “sin,” and a core element of our sin is our delusion that God does not exist. The God Delusion was written by a science professor, and it should be stated clearly here, given how often atheism presents itself under the banner of science, that science is not to blame for atheism or any other symptom of human sinfulness. In fact, many great scientists of the past were Christians, believing that God made the heavens and the earth and established the laws by which the natural world operates and which scientists investigate. Most of the “giants” of modern science were Christians. They pursued a rational understanding of the cosmos because they believed that God, who has a mind, had created the cosmos according to the principles of rational and mathematical operation that govern the human mind, which is fashioned according to the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Belief in God is no delusion. It is inherently and fundamentally rational-a logical response to seeing God’s handiwork (Psalm 19:1). Belief in God is the source of true wisdom regarding why human beings do evil things so often and so naturally, why we can work so hard to be good and still fail, and why Jesus Christ and only He is the spiritual hope for mankind.

The same can be used for ALL other gods. Your argument, is simply an excuse made up by the church for people who can't think. For you to make ANY argument, you can't just SAY SO, you need to provide a mechanism that shows HOW your claim works.
