Pain, I kept a food diary where I spent months just eating ingrediants to figure out what I was allergic too, all because I didnt trust doctors. I found out, im deathly allergic to unaged cheese, and most preservitives. Now I feel healthier than a horse.. also I have a degeneration desease that if i dont keep my self in perfect health, Ill die from boneitius.. I was hurting emotionally for a while. Then I was dealt an immense amount of physical pain, chronically. And I have never grown more than when I needed to continue living under those circumstances daily. I had a choice though, to fall deeper or to try to claw up. My outlook on life has changed for the better and my understanding of other around me has had the best effect. I really don’t like pain, but it opened my heart and mind and helped shape me into someone strong. I’m still on the road and have my hard times, but now I am steadfast and solid.

If I hadn't been through poverty I not only wouldn't have as much empathy for the poor, I also wouldn't know how f*cked up and rigged the system actually is. Going from poverty to middle class homeowmer made me wise. The people I don't have empathy for are the privileged people who don't understand the struggle. I hate those people.
@ChristopherCopeland

That’s cool, I admire your journey. And I understand your sentiment, but is hating them the right way? As you mentioned, if you had been born into that privilege, and therefore hadn’t suffered, wouldn’t you also be ignorant to those struggles?

@@ChristopherCopeland It's easy to not like them when you realize that they vote and make decisions that might affect you negatively. It's easy to justify wanting to punish people who simply don't understand something when you think about this. @@GenerationX1984 fair point! Reading your phrase “smart enough”, it might be a little more extreme than what you meant, but this starts breaking into a cultural topic that interests me as we have more and more access to information, which is the question of actually giving precedence to intelligence in society rather than allowing stupid peoples’ opinion’s to be weighed equally (voting etc) when making societal decisions 😬 it’s a slippery slope and probably taboo as hell to even mention, but I do agree with your sentiment that the opinions of people who don’t have the awareness to consider things outside their own narrow experience are generally not to be trusted or valued.

I usually can widthstan pain, broken limbs sure, reopen a deep scar, love it. A bullet to the heart, would definitely wanna know what that feels like. But the pain that had me literally on my knees, was when I had a wisdom tooth that was hurting and one day I poke at the nerve, and it felt like lightning struck inside of me, and automatically forced me to drop to the ground. It was amazing. A new type of pain which I never knew, and had forced all my muscles into shock. I poked it twice, and the second shock I felt it on my spine and brain. It was like a electric brain freeze.

Ascending through physical pain is definitely true when it comes to working out. Sometimes I pick up new routines/movements that i’ve never done before and on the next day I feel like my limbs are about to fall off. One week after that I enjoy new and undiscovered physical abilities 👍 German say „Sport ist Mord“ which translates into „Workout is killing“. As if it has the same effect as smoking. This typa mentality is block to reach your own true potential and I’m upset when I hear people saying that for fun.

I am just getting over the same thing and I was having pain for years also… what helped me was to let go and take my time with what was effecting it… a lot of it was the stress of thinking that maybe I have to do some spiritual practice to become better… (as in it felt like I was forcing it) but I dropped it… and then I was able to listen to my body more and see that I was often eating what I didn’t feel like, overeating or eating when not truely hungry… also certain foods caused odd reactions such as sugar making me feel the need to eat more to calm the sickness I felt (odd reaction… I know). Anyways, that has been my experience so far with what sounds like a similar issue to yours… good luck. If you are hard on yourself like me… don’t forget to take it easy on yourself and take it slow.

It's also demonstrably false. Ask the short term Covid survivers who died of long Covid years later if long Covid made them stronger. Ask people with AIDS who are on their deathbeds how strong they feel! Sometimes what doesn't kill you makes you weaker or kills you in the long run. This idea of what doesn't kill you makes you stronger is a dumb cliche that isn't helpful. Sometimes what doesn't kill you leads to insanity. Like the Joker in The Dark Knight film says, "What doesn't kill you simply makes you stranger." Tired of this idea that all adversity is somehow good. It depends on the adversity. It's not an absolute!

Pain and pleasure are part of the experience of all that lives . The reasoning in this video strikes me as a human whistling past the graveyard . What if we didn't have to make a story about our pain ? Why are humans so intent on making every experience a story about climbing the ladder to success ? The human animal inflicts continual agony on all other life on this planet . Dogs , cows , children and potted plants should have far surpassed us in their wisdom by now .

The key to not feeling pain is to ask for more pain. When in pain , we yearn for the pain to go away, we beg it to stop. The pain throbs on Instead, ask it for more. Ask the pain “is that all you got?”. It will surge then quickly putter out. Next time you have a minor burn, from say cooking, give it a try during those few days after as the burn heals

It absolutely leads to almost nothing but repressing the pain you are feeling, which slowly destroys your mind body and soul. “Hard” men are usually just repressors, they tend to vent on wives and kids.

Through parkour, I know pain intimately, and I know my body and minds actual limitations far more than those around me.

@Mikus Palmis so true. Also, taking on physical pain is far more cut and dry for the body. Over time, mental pain can create ailments from the inside out (arthritis, cancer, ulcers, ect). I get cut and bruised, recover, and repeat. Far less miserable.
