Fantastic video and interesting story! Your historical commentary videos are such a great idea. (BTW: I'm surprised there is so many "fictional" mods like F-22, Rafale, Su-57 having nothing in common with their real counterparts, but there is no i.e. F-16A to portray proper fighters for video like this one.)
@showtime1123 жыл бұрын
Thanks! As for the airplanes you mention, they are just mods and I believe that most details about them are just guesses by their authors because they can't possibly access the right information. And making the A version of F-16 would take lots of effort to do it properly. I listened to several interviews with module developers, making a different version of an airplane is nearly like developing another module. Financial effect from developing F-16A would be questionable. Heatblur is an exception here, they developed F-14B first and then F-14A but it was free for the module owners.
@possiblyadickhead66533 жыл бұрын

I am curious as to why the Soviet Air Force did not provide some sort of fighter escort for the Su-25s, since there was already a history of the Pakistani Air Force reacting strongly to Soviet air incursions? It seems like the Su-25 is analogous to the U.S.A.F.'s A-10 Warthog, which does not appear to have been designed with air combat in mind - were the Soviets NOT providing escorts, in an attempt to prevent an escalation of hostilities with Islamabad?

It seems that some MiG-23s might have been there. A Russian viewer commented on that here (in Russian language but GT will translate it well enough). Here is a question, did any Soviet / Russian jet ever shoot down a western made jet? (excluding the Vietnam war). Are there any confirmed kills & if yes, against what aircraft? Would appreciate your reply. thx)
@showtime1122 жыл бұрын
One case which is now confirmed was the F/A-18 in the first night of Desert Storm. It was shot down by an Iraqi MiG-25. In the Indo-Pak war of 1971, MiG-21s shot down at least two F-104s.. Arabs did manage to shoot down a number of Israeli jets during the 1973 war too. The exact number is disputed but there were kills scored. Iraqi MiG-21s shot down at least two Iranian F-5s. This is just off the top of my head.

It's a matter of point of view. Many would agree.
@tibzig12 жыл бұрын
@@showtime112 I'm sorry but it appears that the scourge of political correctness has frightened many folks into a "truth is relative" disease. It is NOT , sir, a "point of view." TRUTH is NOT " a point of view." I am half Afghan (on my mother's side) and that downtrodden, poor third world country has become a kind of macabre standard for various empires/more powerful nations to invade as the Afghans have never really been controlled or conquered by anyone, going back all the way to Alexander himself. They all want that feather in their cap. I fought jihad in Afghanistan from 1980-1982. I am now almost 65 years of age. When you physically enter another nation/culture by force and then attempt to change their way of life, you are a violator. Period. If someone came into your house and violated your women, it would not be "a matter of point of view." If you are a man defending your family you would not take it lightly. It would not be that "Many would agree" that you did the right thing by fighting off the aggressor. 100% would agree with your actions. I am happy that we killed many of these cruel Soviets who caused so much loss of life and destruction in Afghanistan. And by the way, the Soviets did use chemical weapons in Afghanistan. Although I was not among those targeted by these weapons, I saw the effects of these weapons firsthand. It pleases me immensely that they suffered a humiliating defeat just as the Americans suffered a similar defeat. Too much Western hubris.
@showtime1122 жыл бұрын
@@tibzig1 'Point of view' was that Mujahideen were 'freedom fighters'. Fighters against a foreign force, sure. But what they fought for, I wouldn't call freedom. It even eventually resulted in probably the least free regime in recent history. But maybe we have different definitions of freedom.
@tibzig12 жыл бұрын
@@showtime112 No sir. I understand you have to run a channel and earn a living. One "incorrect " word or phrase may take money away from you. I get that. However, freedom has one meaning: You determine your own fate. This relativism that you are displaying is responsible for the decay of the West: Drugs, fatherless families, active shooters, mental illness....the list goes on. Maybe I have a different definition of, say murder, than you. Or of child abuse...it is all relative after all, correct? That is your truth and this is mine. The Soviets lost and the US lost because they both went in to destroy a culture and a people. Not everyone wants Westernization. The typical Western attitude is one of hubris. Let them evolve at their own pace. It is one of the most racist acts of the Western world when it defines (and changes at will!) what it means by freedom. The Afghans will deal with their own however they please. It is not yours or anyone else's business. And as I mentioned, I fought the fight and I regret nothing.

@@showtime112 And the this time the invading armies of the US spreading Western "democracy & freedom" were defeated.
