No mother should ever call a child abusive names i.e. "stupid, worthless, bi+ch, sl^t, idiot, moron". You can say "You're behaving badly". Absolutely reasonable to converse with your child and share what you see. But share it from YOUR point of view with terms of respect even if you don't feel respect. You can't ask your child to respect you if you don't act respectful toward them.
