I never post KZbin comments, but this video compelled me to speak on how much Charlie has helped me and my crippling OCD. I was diagnosed with OCD (The self-control type) which made my life a living hell. I always thought there was something under my skin and would scratch till I bled trying to get it out, my whole life I thought and was treated like a freak. When Charlie talked about having OCD I cried because I couldn't believe someone cool like him would ever share the one thing that was single handedly ruining my life. Unfortunately, it has not gotten better, but my self image has. I know I probably will never get to tell Charlie how much he helped some teenage girl with OCD through high school, but it's fun to imagine. Thank you Charlie for helping me, if only a little, to feel like a normal girl

I think what makes his content great is that he is always talking about something that interests him or plays a game which he likes playing. He makes what he wants and the viewer can either watch it or leave he just is himself rather than trying to form a particular image or avoid a particular topic because of public opinion.

I just found his chanel recently, I like his humour he is very witty. I had no clue he was such a good person donating to charity (even thought they r mostly corrupt and I agree) but overall someone who has real good intentions. In fact, you still see that raw aspect in a lot of the old guard of content creators, your Philip Defranco or your Destiny or Mutahar, the people who started a long time ago are generally more genuine than the people who started in the past several years. Charlie caught people's eye for the very reason Ray William Johnson said he did: because of his deadpan humor. At the time, gameplay videos were either just people showing off straight no-commentary gaming footage or providing tutorials & opinions. This was even before the trend where people started screaming at gameplay footage, which got off the ground with Pewdiepie's Amnesia video in late 2010. Charlie was an alternative to that, someone who was funnier than the other (often genuine) gameplay commentators that came BEFORE him, but he also didn't conform to the "loud = funny" meta that started AFTER he did.
