I noticed that people have treated me much different and I now sometimes regret the weight loss because I know how fake people are. Not defending it, and a large part is social conditioning, but I think a large part of it is also an evolution thing - we are all still animals at the end of the day and animals look for health, strength, protection and good strong genes to make big strong healthy offspring. In the wild you rarely see fat animals because survival is hard work and looks are important for securing a mate (look no further than the elaborate colourings and mating rituals on Animal Planet). Yes we are intelligent humans, but we're fundamentally still animals and ruled by primal instincts, even if it is mainly subconscious. It's wrong to treat someone poorly for being overweight, but the preference for visually healthy people is pretty primal mammalian thing.
@mr.knowitall50194 жыл бұрын
This evolutionary shit could justify many bad things. We shouldn't behave like animals in the wild. It is a slippery slope. We have primal impulses but we can control them and decide not to act upon them.

I'm still skeptical of that statement but it is true... Besides health problems most people lose weight to look & feel good essentially saying that they did not think they looked good bigger. Your points are valid. Just want to say that from a girl's perspective, guys seem wayyyy more judgmental than girls with regard to the weight and looks of a potential partner. For example, my single girlfriends use online dating sites and they say that many of the men's profiles talk about thinness and fitness for the women they want to meet, while most of the women talk about their preferred qualities in a male being personality, liking kids, conversation, fun, and romance. And, remember the "No Fat Chicks" bumper stickers? There has never been a "No Fat Dudes" bumper sticker. Just sayin'.

sophiegirl58 lol... on dating sites, it does not really matter how you look like if you're a woman, there's always someone that will pay attention to you. i've read about it and decided to try out myself and i was shocked. i used a picture of an attractive and "ugly" woman, both got lots of messages and attention. males are very shallow but so are women. because what you did not mention is that lots of women on dating sites also writes about how the man they want to meet SHOULD be. tbh if a man is just an average looking guy with a poor social life and not a big income, it will be really hard for him to manage to get anything on the dating sites (even "ugly" women mostly won't talk with him because they want the best they can get). and using dating sites as an example of guys being shallow is just plain fucking stupid. lots females on there are there to get confirmation that they're attractive. lots of males are on these sites to find someone to fuck with or to troll on the sites for fun. in other words, what people claim on these sites is something that should be taken with a pinch of salt. i'm a "fat" (i am overweight but i don't consider myself fat, but thats just me i guess) guy, females NEVER pay attention to me at all. even if i would write down what i do during my days and shit, females would not give a shit, not even less attractive or girls in the same leauge as me. honestly, i don't want a men vs women thing, because it goes both ways, if you're a fat girl becoming fit or a fat guy becoming fit, you will be treated better and get more attention from the opposite gender. i have to add that i am a nice person with hobbies that are very interesting to lots of people (they're a big part of our society) but personality means absolutely nothing to most people.

I get the resentment (oh, you like me NOW, don't you?) but that is all it is, resentment. We all find healthy active people attractive, that's how it is. The point is not to moan about how unfair it is but to get out of a trap of self-defeating behaviours and become a stronger person who inspires others.

People around me, especially the ones i loved the most, started to criticize a lot. telling slim like that doesn't look nice, too slim, even told me: that doesnt sell! etc. actually i was eating well, and feeling nice in my mind and heart, but the change was obvious and they saw it in another way. was a lot of mind work, a lot of self-exploration and adjustments to reach this in my life, like a new life....but this change was not "accepted" by the people i love the most. Good Subject. I actually lost a consulting contract, because I didn't look like the other Suits in the room. This mindset followed me to my next opportunity, when they waited till the last minute to bring me on-board, costing me six months pay. One of the reasons for me switching to Vegan, happened at Thanksgiving Dinner, 2-years ago; it was brought to my attention that, "I ate half as much food as the other people at the table and seemed unable to loose weight."

"People should just like you for who you are" - People will like you for who you are when you're overweight, but if you're looking for someone to be physically/sexually attracted to you then of course your physical appearance matters. But again, that doesn't mean that people "don't like you for who you are" as a friend or just as a person. Just like you are not going to want to be physically involved with a girl that you're not physically attracted to. Personally I like bigger guys so I thought you looked better before, I'm not attracted to skinny guys, but that's just me. The point is if we're gonna get physical we need to be physically attracted, both males and females, we're both exactly the same despite this misconception that "men are more visual" (that's a load of garbage). This has nothing to do with society. It's human nature. It's the way we are wired. Fair or not is irrelevant, that's just the facts of nature.

I too have been both. Another thing that goes with being overweight, is that people devalue all your relationships. They assume that it was all in my head. They assume that only a hideous looking loser would ever be attracted to or have feelings for me. I was never more than 140 pounds at most, but still. It's enough for folks to think I'm unlovable and delusional. And that I have no friends. Also, they think I've only ever looked one way.

I'm only like 5'7-5'8 and was around 235 and now around 195.. So people think it's awesome that I've been getting healthy.. You can’t talk someone into feeling desire for you. And just because someone isn’t sexually attracted to you doesn’t mean they don’t like you as a person. @birdseye_20206 ай бұрын
Having been both skinny and obese, there's definitely a difference in the way people treat you generally speaking. Two years ago I lost 52 lbs within 4 months (gained back 60 lbs) and then last year I lost 60 lbs in 6.5 months [just with a change of diet; no exercise]... I noticed guys started looking at me more and acting nicer after being invisible for about 6 years; I could see the lust in their eyes. However, I didnt lose enough weight for women to give me dirty looks LOL...Unfortunately, I had a health issue wreak havoc, and coupled with my dismay with the newfound attention from the opposite sex, within 8 months I gained back 80lbs. I didnt realize how being invisible felt like a security blanket for me and felt safer than being ogled by gluttonous eyes. I've restarted my fat loss journey after having done some introspection and inner work. One cannot sacrifice one's health for the mere fact of desiring a built-in invisibility cloak. There are alternative & healthier coping mechanisms for unwanted attention. Hopefully, I can drop 130-160lbs within 1-1.5 years and maintain it.

@sinnerpeace10 жыл бұрын
its is but we are still above our genetical inclination...being kind to a person because they are person...just like you...
@ananse779 жыл бұрын
sinnerpeace Being kind is one thing. Being attracted to them is another. This video is hypocritical. I'm sure the poster didn't approach or date many women that were seriously overweight either. I am overweight, but I don't get offended when men don't find me attractive because of it. We are naturally attracted to healthy and beautiful physical specimens.

I found all this out the hard way with 100's of lbs. of water wt coming on me after a car accident in a relativity short time so much that my features disappeared into a blob. I could not get rid of no matter what I ate. I got treated like Godzilla. I scared little children. When I could still leave the house and was in a power chair, Hateful men slammed doors in my face then laughed at me. After being home bound /bed bound for 7yrs, I finally I got the right health treatment and the wt. came off as fast as it came on. Wow it sure taught me how bad big people are treated. I never btw treated anyone like that before or since. I had good esteem from loving my inner self, so it did not destroy me inside. Now men hold doors for me again, it's hard not to wonder if they're the same ones who would slam them before tho. I am writing a book about it, will probably have to self publish it. He's right it's real...it happens. I had to laugh at the part where people said it was how You were acting I had many tell me that too and it was bullshitake...I acted the same no matter what I looked like. BTW, I am not one of the shallow gals...I love fluffy dudes, I would've been as nice to you big as I'd be to ya now. My hub's a fluffy. LOL. Congrats on the baby!!

***** since i was considered medically morbid obese by then they put a lap band on me to restrict all calorie consumption even tho my stomach was normal sized...and my body used that water for fuel for mo's and mo's...since it was a unique case, I was probably the only one at my HMO who was allowed to get who was not obese from normal circumstances ( over eating ) but my dr. was desperate to get me well, and with the cal restriction the water came flying off as fast as it came on... when all that was off the lap band came out and the water wt. has stayed off...thank goodness. with regular swelling and non huge making lymphedema i have no idea... a low salt diet, putting her feet up a much as possible and edema massage FROM A PROPER TRAINED THERAPIST would probably the way they'd help UR MOM unless she's super huge like i got!! i hope that helps!! i still need to watch what i eat but im just chunky now lol...

Yeah I went to Disneyland/universal with my friend and I felt invisible to staff - they would help and interact with my slim friend but not me. Even by staff members that were bigger than me or the same size. Mostly men.

Well get mad at animals too because animals only mate with the best partners. Any old or sick animals get left to die.

Thank you for this video. I think it only shows that the true motivation for weight loss shouldnt be girls, or pressure of other people it has to come from within you. I mean there are so many people who actually come off as more sympathetic because they have a little bit more weight, but like you said most people can be really judgemental.

just curious, having watched your video if you are into big women? say she has an awesome personality? and she weighs 350 pounds or so? cause I know with me, I used to be way bigger but I was never really attracted to bigger men, it was just a preference, nothing against them or anything, I just wasn't attracted to them. but I myself was very big...but I enjoyed your video, I'm still not where I want to be weight wise but I'm getting there.

The only woman I am into is my soon to be wife! Having said that I have dated big women in the past, though if for some reason I was available again I would probably be looking for someone who had an active lifestyle, I'm sure there are some active 350 pounders who are the exception, however I am guessing that if they were active they wouldn't be big for long! I am always a personality guy I find that the more attractive someone's personality the more physically attractive I find them.

+portlyfatty LOL, that kinda sounds like a cop out. Ther's nothing wrong with liking conventionally attractive people. You pretty much just said you aren't into big women. So can you really blame the women who weren't into you before?

mary thomas when he was fat, he wasn't active, so he probably dated fat girls who weren't active as well. But now, when is slim and healthy, and has active life, it's obvious that he wouldn't like to date with someone who is fat and lazy. I would totally date a chubby girl but I wouldn't want to be her full time partner. Just because my active life would be totally out of her reach and - providing that she wouldn't want to lose weight - we wouldn't be able to spend that much time together. Me on the gym, biking, walking and her on the couch. Not gonna happen.

I support those who found out the hard way after careful application and dedication that veganism harmed and made them unhealthy or killed them.

It's actually normal for a woman to want a partner to be fit so they will be there longer for them and their offspring. Women and men alike want to find a healthy partner to reproduce with. It's instinctual.

I don't find it very shallow that once you lose the weight and become more attractive women start liking you. If you wouldn't date someone with your BMI then don't blame them for not dating you.
@phantomofoaktown9 жыл бұрын
people are not really disrespectful or look down on fat people and men don't really demand attention and act aggressively toward women when pursuing them and only see them as objects of desire, they are not men nor are they people, this segment of the population that behave in this way are narcissists
