I think Millennium Actress is one of Satoshi Kon's more overlooked works. Especially for how good it is. There's lots of life lessons in it

I didn’t understand it at first but midway through, I thought the film was amazing.

I can relate to questioning who the hell I am after making a decision that significantly changes my life. This movie captures that feeling SO well

Can we ever talk about how Go Nagai is the OG edgelord that inspired Anno’s Evangelion and Muira’s Berserk? Also we should talk about how influential Mobile Suit Gundam (original UC timeline) is from 1979 to now. There wouldn’t be LOTGH or Evangelion if it weren’t for Tomino creating the Real Robot Genre along with Sunrise; which tackles realistic issues, military tactics, and PTSD. (The kind of thing Shinji Ikari is known for as a Eva pilot).

I love this movie! it's one of the best psychological horror films ever. It's definitely on my list as one of my favorite anime films of all time! The anime films that I would like to see you do a review and analysis on next are both Wicked City and Golgo 13: The Professional!

I've had the Bluray of this movie laying around for almost 3 years and finally came around to watch it today. Boy howdy do I hate myself for not doing so sooner. The US Scene was insanely uncomfortable and I don't think I've ever seen a movie which trapped me inside a characters head spaced as much as this one. Truly a piece of art.

This is without a doubt my favorite horror movie. Satoshi Kon is an unrivalled film-making genius.

The ending i felt could work in 2 ways like A.) The manager and her hallucinations reprsent who she was before and are now imprisoned in the past and Mima is embracing the next chapter in her life or B.) It's a dark foreshadowing of what's to come as her psyche snaps and her hallucinations fully take her over without her realizing and she thinks she's moving forward when in reality she isn't

Loved this review! Perfect Blue is such an iconic piece of art. Would you consider reviewing any of the Yoshiaki Kawakiri less known works, such as Cyber Ciry Oedo 808?

Yeah,Perception can be pretty haunting especially when you want to make a Sniper build in the earlier games and you don't put enough points in it ☠.Its also needed for some speech checks and cool perks in the later games.

I appreciate the spoiler warnings. Always good to see youtubers with some integrity. I`m ashamed to admit but as a teenager in the 1990`s I never got around to watching this film. I don`t know why. It always looked interesting but I always ended up buying something else. Vampire Hunter D, Akira, Ghost in the shell, Wicked City, Biohunter, etc. Anyone know where I can stream or download this film legally? I need to knock this off my bucket list.

Maybe it’s because I’m an actor but I found the sexual assault scene causing/catalyzing her break from reality to be weak, almost too unbelievable compared to everything else in the film. It reads of that male view where even simulated activity like that will have profound negative effects, despite her scene partner apologizing in between takes, and the common knowledge that everything happening onset is fake. It’s like Casca having her period and being too weak to fight, as if periods are so debilitating that an expertly trained warrior would succumb to it in the heat of battle. Overall, film’s fantastic. That moment, though, just detracts from the slip into her identity crisis.
