@@sammywilliam8156 One thing I've always loved about the show is that Brian is basically all of Seth's bad qualities. He is smart but his ego gets in the way _(Seth is entertaining but ends up being literally half of the shows characters)_ and it's great because you can't help but hate him. I think thats why he basically uses his normal voice for him. There is something very cathartic about somebody creating a character who is the absolute worst version of themselves and remaining consistent about it. Like, Brian is the worst everything, He's a bad father, A bad writer, A bad intellectual, A bad liar, You name it. lol He is what we would all be if we had half a brain, a ton of ego and no self respect... Rather than like, Being some kinda super cool super hero guy.

Thats a big reason why i quit watching. Characterization pretty much stopped, everyone got more shallow and flat, and they pretty much abandoned what characterization had already been established. Everyones just an asshole all the time. If it werent for the cutaway gags the show would be kind of dark since everyone just treats each other like total shit all the time, often without reason. In a cast you can have a few assholes, ideally people are assholes for a reason, but when everyones an asshole all the time you've just created a shitty world.

I can think of another time when Chris was ruined, but it was by his mom instead of his dad; it was the episode where he became Quagmire's personal assistant. While he did do a lot of tasks that seemed odd, like cleaning Glen's sex toys and setting up his dates with women, it was still a professional position and he was paid quite well. However, Lois didn't like it because basically, in her words, it wasn't a "typical" job like mowing lawns or delivering newspapers (both things that Chris used to do). Ultimately, she gives him the money he needs even though it all culminated in him stealing it in the first place.

When Chris got home, Lois could be like, "Hi Chris, did you get hunted. Then he reveals, he was hunted much to his and Lois's dismay. There Lois, I saved you from looking like a C word.

I always love looking back at the first few seasons of long running shows. It is amazing how much things change. Lois went from a doting mom to a cool mom with a crazy past. Peter went from an idiot to a cartoonish baboon. And Chris and Meg became charactures of their original personas. Brian tends to kinda go all over the place to fit the story and Stewie was the only consistent character, But even then he became a very toned down version of himself,... Like I can't even remember the last time he killed somebody.

I feel they've always gotten atheism completely wrong aside from the instances that some don't like people coming in there face spewing the gospel. I don't, and I was Baptist before going agnostic, constantly talking about the spirit outside of church or to non-christian friends is annoying, honestly, but I digress. In the show, he has seen several instances of spiritual entities God, Jesus - the personification of God, and even Death...the grim-freaking-reaper. He's also seen other religious figures, Christian and non-christian, within the show. Yet, the next episode, he's back to "blah blah blah no God" and to be fair, that's just as annoying as a Christian screaming about the second coming. If it would be a continuous series, Brian would just be considered a denier. And a dumb one at that.
