I don't know about this particular estimate, but it's very possible to calculate these things by looking at the number of streams on each platform plus the royalty rate they pay per million streams. In fact she's probably made a lot more than that by now if you add up everything. She has over 2.5 billion streams on Spotify alone and they pay at least $3000 per million, so that's about $9 million right there.

Don't believe for 1 minute that she didn't have Major Label resources behind her from the very start. Its surprising how easy it is to fool people these days, with stories people relate too. Major Labels scout unknowns on sound cloud all the time, & if they find someone they can easily control "A young person" they then put them in a "Mini budget resources tester marketing contract with options" & if they blow up they will sign them too the label. They like her because she's a quick money turnover artist that will be replaced in a couple of years. It's the TikTok music business now, get them in, rinse them & get them out. Ps. I was in & around the industry in the late 90's.
