I don't know about this particular estimate, but it's very possible to calculate these things by looking at the number of streams on each platform plus the royalty rate they pay per million streams. In fact she's probably made a lot more than that by now if you add up everything. She has over 2.5 billion streams on Spotify alone and they pay at least $3000 per million, so that's about $9 million right there.

Major Labels scout unknowns on sound cloud all the time, & if they find someone they can easily control "A young person" they then put them in a "Mini budget resources tester marketing contract with options" & if they blow up they will sign them too the label.
