Tadej Pogacar has won the 2024 Giro d'Italia to no one's surprise. Now he will have to prepare for the Tour de France 2024 against Jonas Vingegaard, but first here is the analysis of the Giro 2024, how Pogacar broke records of dopers like Tony Rominger or Eddy Merckx and how he won 6 stages wearing the maglia rosa for 20 days. How Pogacar won clean, without doping, the fastest Giro d'italia in history.

The increase in average speed is interesting when you look back at previous similar jumps. 1983/84 are exceptions given the flat parcours to favour Moser. The next big increase happens with EPO in 1990 and then another with TR and Dr Ferrari in 1995, just around peak Gewiss. There’s a couple of other suspicious jumps along the way but none of them come close to a 41kph average even when we know guys had haematocrit readings of 60% through the mid nineties. Over 2kph faster than Roglic last year or Bernal in 2021?? 2kph extra at 40kph is how many watts? About 40 I would think and maybe 50. Madness.

I think that there is a reason why a sprinter can't win 800m runners, why 800m runners can't win 10000m, or why a good 5000/10000 runner cant be a marathon winner, but 10000 specialists can win a marathon or why marathon runners don't destroy records on 10000. Human physiology. And these borders exist even on clean track and field. In cycling we have an athlete doing 21 marathons in 23 days, with different disciplines, climb, endurance, sprint, etc without sweat and he is ready to do it again in less than a month...... I ran a 14 km event off-road with a 600m ascent, just running in my comfort zone, and my watch told me that I had to rest for 28 hours. What he is doing is unhuman

A really good question for u all. You contradict that modern smooth road surfaces make u go faster, contradict that current bikes , wheels, tyres are faster, also ignore lighter race calendars explain which why more freshness in peloton (as well as way shorter and easier stages in the past). So here we go: explain why my strava times on segments that are resurfaced see my doing 2kph quicker than the older surfaces. Also explain why i go faster on a new trek bike on nearly all segments than my old focus. Do you think people are spiking my water bottle? Regards from an ex 2nd category road racing cyclist

As I said before Big classics like Sanremo, Roubaix, Flanders Same km, same roads, much better times Dude, it isn’t only a factor, there are a lot of them. Even the most important one. And this for all types of sports. Beating disc throw records of RDA full doped clean. Could you imagine someone beating Flo-Jo’s records and then telling is because the shoes or the improvement in nutrition or the best quality of the tracks? Only? It’s hilarious!
@cyclinghighlights

I mean, of course you will be faster on a lighter bike or with best nutrition, training methods or with better roads. We didn’t deny that, but only that factors explain improvements in w/kg, speed, stamina… And the only riders who tested positive are Portuguese, southamerican or like you, of 2nd and 3rd category road racing? Only the “losers” dope? Only Hessmann, Bonnamour? The Oil Coconut case with a lot of papers of strange substances? By UCI, that’s what happens today, we’ll have to believe them

Fresher? Pantani’s Alpe D’Huez record was made in a season in which he rode like today’s riders because of crashes and injuries. Riis Hautacam record was made in a season that he only rode full gas since June.. and I’m talking about this only because you talk about those records, Lance didn’t (couldn’t really) made seasons full gas before. Of course materials are better, and I tell you, those materials are better than EPO in 1990? I mean, a full clean rider in 2024 could ride much faster than Riccò, Piepoli, Cobo, Kohl full of MIRCERA in 2008 or Luigi/Boonen era? Now they rode 1 hour faster, full gas from the beginning. Just the materials? Are from NASA those materials that improve chemistry?

EPO improved the stamina in 10 per cent in 1989, that meaned that one only substance improved around 20 min per stage. With EPO, riders made times hours better than in the 80s. There were better materials and nutrition than in the 80s too. Now all cyclists are just beating that records that smashed the 80s ones. Of course, is just the aero and the trainings. Of course.
