It can be fun stuff. Take a Mc Donald's straw kink one end, and tape the folded end. Make a funnel, and fill the straw about half full of the brightest, and finest powder you have. Kink and tape that end closed. Keep the straw in a baggie. Now all you need is a victim that has stepped away from their vehicle. Open one end of the straw dump the powder into the defroster vent then set the defroster to high. It's best to take the now empty straw, and drop it next to another vehicles driver's door before officer victim starts his vehicle. Trust me you don't want to take that heat right after the joke plays out. It's best to allow a little cooling off time before you take credit. I'm not sure how long, but it's definitely longer than a month.

Officer401, hey brother how you doing? Was wondering can you do a video on responding to arson? From what I know, police have authority at the crime scene since arson is a crime, but fire department has the expertise over that stuff, but would love to hear it from a veteran cop! so maybe a video on who does what, and what are the first few things LE does when the respond to that type of call and what stuff they need to be aware of.. would be great video since we are already getting into that criminal investigation type of videos :) have a great weekend! Thank you!
@Ash-gq7ni
@Ash-gq7ni 5 жыл бұрын
My knowledge on stuff like that is very limited but from what I’ve read arson is usually very tough to prove for a variety of reasons and for the most part is treated as a normal fire and when police respond, they try to keep people out of the immediate area to avoid anymore harm. Now I’m not an LEO so I couldn’t say for sure. I would love to see that as a vid though! Great idea dude!

Ash yeah most calls are just like responding to a residential fire and stuff but sometimes the Fire investigators and even cops can tell the fire was intentionally ignited.. if FD responds then they call PD to investigate.. then what do they do after would love to know that haha
@MsFiregal8
@MsFiregal8 5 жыл бұрын
@@harrysingh8271 actually it depends upon the jurisdiction. In most urban areas, the arson investigators are advanced specially trained fire officers who also carry police powers to arrest, etc. I had to take college level courses including investigative techniques, advanced chemistry, etc. The city attorney and fire department investigator, sometimes state fire marshalls persecute the cases unless it a federal crime, and federal agencies such as FBI, etc may be involved depending upon the crime and the jurisdiction involved. It may be a bit corny and over dramatized. but the movie Backdraft gives a good idea of big city arson investigators investigations and prosecution!.

that's pretty accurate in doing a forensic course but we use pre-made lifting sheet plastic which is used to lift the print and transported to another sheet of plastic so there is no dust or minimal contaminants. also, door nobs and object with tight angles are a bitch to lift I still fuck them up occasionally. also with analysing prints, there is a bit more to it like the ridges stopping and starting or a complete stop. if the print has been there for some time then a different method has to be done by lifting the salts and other substances after the water has evaporated.

My house was broken into, they came in through the window. Ransacked my first floor. Now, the only thing the police here did, was dust a footprint from where they came in and stepped onto a bench. They didn't check for fingerprints, which would of been everywhere unless the suspect(s) were wearing gloves. They also went out the back door.. left it wide open screen door also held open. The cop told me it's probably kids lmao. No, kids around this town aren't that smart. This whole thing was planned, they had to of been watching the house prior because when 1 of us goes to bed, 2 of us get up for the morning an hour later. This person or people, knew they only had 1 hour. A knife was used to break into the window, purses taken, cash but they left the cards. Was all found 2 houses over in the alley. Ever since that happened, my house is like Alcatraz lmfao. Alarms, security lights and camera's everywhere

In our dept I worked in Corrections for 16 years and the Road guys never did prints. We did. For the first few years we used the nasty black ink and roller. Then we went into the computer to get people’s prints. I liked the ink and roller better as the computer Way was a real pain in the keister being it was so temperamental. I found an old print kit at the old jail once and pressed my fingers on a countertop and went for it. Got a good print and transferred it to a print card with no problem. A Sgt caught me messing around and asked me what the hell I was doing. He saw my print and Good Job! Now get back on your floor! lol 🤣 Anyway, I found this video pretty educational, even though it probably won’t come in handy for me, seeing as I’m now medically retired. Got hurt on the job. Sucks. But keep the videos coming. Gives me something to do between naps 😴

I'm not a cop but I'll take a swing at it. Your lack of a fingerprint might still be a fingerprint. if there's a spot where a finger was clearly pressed but there's no print then it would link back to you or someone else without prints. Additionally, if there's any scarring it would be an indicator as well.
@bara2ban

Actually ridges are formed deep from the inner layers of your skin. You might have flatten your ridges but definitely could not eliminate the pattern. As far as I know there is *only one way* to remove the fingerprint and that's by using a certain acid. Even that is not always successful and definitely not forever.
@petergriffin383
@petergriffin383 5 жыл бұрын
@@bara2ban Using anything to remove one's finger print from their fingers would in itself cause damage, thus creating a new print. If I burned my prints off with acid the end result would be a finger with no natural print, but would have some sort of a scaring print unique to that person. I laugh when people say they'll burn their finger prints off to cause a crime. Lmao, go for it, hurt yourself and still get caught. With forensic technology today it's *extremely* difficult to not leave some kind evidence behind.

Officer 401, when you were saying that thinking like a criminal pays when solving crimes, do officers and detectives go through basic behavioral profiling courses/training? Do officers/detectives carry black lights in their kits so fingerprints can be extracted that wouldn’t necessarily be seen by the naked eye? Is that something reserved for the forensics department? I would like to see you do a sit down with a profiler at some point. I find that field absolutely fascinating. Could you maybe do something on the various shared databases law enforcement agencies use to solve various crimes and how they are used? Thank you for all you do.

how do you differentiate the victims prints from the suspect prints at the scene of the crime ?

If I had to guess they just lift as many prints as possible and find out who’s print is who’s. If there is a victim they are probably dead so they can just compare the prints to the victim also.
