Yeah exactly. Current kratos is a super power house but he restrains himself. We've never really seen him go all out and murder people like he use to. In the novel for god of war 2018 that takes place several years before the game shows kratos training to control his anger. In one of his training he just stands still and let's dire wolves and trolls attack him for hours without retaliating but after several hours he snapped and tore all of the trolls and dire wolves in the area into pieces. This happens in the prequel comic. You can look it up.

In the following 6 issues he goes up against a clan of Mythology Berserker’s aka Elephant sized super strong Werebears all without fully losing control using only a wood cutting axe and bare hands. They chose Mythic Berserker’s because they was an animalistic representation of what Kratos was when he went berserk.

Great video, my only nitpick is I always hated when people say that his story in the originals wasn’t deep. Man was blinded and forced to kill his own family because they worshipped Athena more than Ares. Afterwards his family’s literal ashes were fastened to his skin as a constant reminder of the horrible deed he’d just committed. He then went on to kill Ares, but does anyone remember what he thought his reward would be? He wanted his nightmares GONE, but the Gods only forgave his sins they made him do entire quests where he defied countless odds only to have the one thing he asked for denied. Kratos, the God killer, the all around badass, eventually broke and came to the conclusion that the only way out was suicide. AND GOD OF WAR 1 WASN’T EVEN THE FIRST TIME WHERE HE TRIED TO KILL HIMSELF. Anyways rant over.

When Zeus had taken Kratos' powers, and transferred them to the colossal of Rhodes, it was described as being faster, and stronger with every passing moment. The blades of chaos also absorb the life of those it kills, healing Kratos and making him stronger. "the Blades of Chaos could drink innocent lives as easily as those of opponents. The surge in his strength from each murder let him run ever faster"as a quote from the first novel. It's mentioned a few other times as well.

To be 100% fair. He was a Spartan. Spartans entire life was violence basically. And a lot of the gods he kills were just obstacles that got in the way of killing Zeus. Take athena for example or hera who poked the bear. But yes. I do like god of war 4 kratos. My favorite moments being at the start of the game when he gets mad at his son but pulls himself back. When his son is sick and he paces on the elevator When he picks up the blades of chaos again and his arms are shaking because of what he has to do. To put Kratos’ strength in perspective, imagine trying to step on an ant but seconds later you find yourself levitating just a few centimeters of the ground, then you get launched back. Also, regarding as to why even though he’s insanely powerful yet struggles to open a chest, i firmly believe that Kratos’ godly ability is to match and overpower the strength level of his foes or meet a certain level of strength to do a task. This means that Kratos’ ability doesnt see the need for a comsic-level lift strength to open a firmly sealed chest, rather give him enough strength to open it, but when the time comes that he faces let’s say a multiversal being, his ability adjusts to the strength level of that being and overpower it overtime. I know he sounds kinda cracked but if you think about it, his other stats except for stamina and durability are just basically peak-human or more than that, so having a cracked ability like this allowed him to kill a pantheon in the first place.

The magic, weapons, sister of fate protection ect, they don't protect him anymore. Finale of ragnaroke kratos needs help to win. He might be stronger but his magic isn't and neither us his plot protection. The entire point of the sister's of fate was to change kratos fate and make it unknown. I will give more detail here by seperating it into eras cause something that people dont get is that his strength is different in each game SPARTAN GENERAL As we see in Chains of Olympus at this level he literally gets flicked away by Persephone. Proving his god like power isnt natural SERVANT OF ARES Its stated he got training from Ares which made him stronger GOW ASCENSION GOW CHAINS OF OLYMPUS He needed the Gauntlet of Zeus to defeat Persephone. GOD OF WAR 1 According to the novel Kratos gets stronger and faster every time he kills with the Blades as they infuse him with the energy of his enemies meaninb he has been gettinb stronger for 10 years straight,the novel also says at this point he is "NEAR OLYMPIAN LEVEL STRENGTH" This means he is only close to the bare minimum of Olympian power and therefore fodder to top tier gods he surpasses later Hard to accept i know He made an entire journey to fins the box cause its stated many timea he cant fight Ares without it After being empowered by the godly energies of Pandoras Box he is able to match Ares in a contest of strength whenever they clash their weapons. Kratos only has a very small edge in strength in this fight. When they push each other in the ○ button mash quick time events its very even According to Athena in the novel Hades and Poseidon are absolutely superior to Ares and Poseidon threatened to "crush" Ares and Ares was scared of him and tried to calm him down GOD OF WAR 2 The COLLECTIVE power of the Fates,aka ALL 3 of them at once are only stated by Cory to be SLIGHTLY superior to Zeus only. The novel makes it clear during the final fight that Zeus is still stronger than kratos though with Kratos thinking that Zeus can easily kill him if he isnt careful. He also is forced to trick Zeus as he cant overpower him in the final ○ button mash struggle Still due to beating 2 of the 3 fates at once End if GoW2 Kratos should be 2/3 as strong as Zeus GOD OF WAR 3 According to the story synopsis in the gamescase backcover Kratos has "returned STRONGER and more insane than before" So it can be reasoned that his rage being at its most intense in this game gives a boost.He is always angry in this game,even if you arent moving you can see he is venting angrily. He then may also get a power boost from Hades soul since its stated by Hades that souls make him stronger. It makes sense cause in the Gow2 novel Zeus is blatanly much stronger than Hades At the end of the story Kratos is equal with Zeus in brute strength and has the edge to his far superior skill(its still a good fight cause Zeus has more experience) He decisively overpowers him on brute force as well when in Rage of Sparta mode in Gaias heart He also beat Hercules who in the myth defeated Ares in a fight and injured Hades. Hercules is a demigod with god level strength just like Kratos,the reason is due to drinking milk from Heras breasts GOD OF WAR 2018 We have multiple statements from guides and novels that say he hasnt really lost power. But the novel does say he has lost muscle mass He is also only even with Thor in the trailer who is stated by Art Director Bruno to "propably be weaker than Zeus" Narratively Spartan Rage Mode Kratos is about on par with GoW3 Kratos,just less muscle and a bit more tired amd weary. Base Kratos is considerably weaker Cory did say current Kratos would win but that could have to do with his superior experience now and self control. The misconception about Kratos is that people take feats from game when in actually it’s the lore that makes Kratos so OP. From tagging the god of speed who is as fast as he wants or needs to be and has unlimited speed to ripping out the soul of the king of the dead to defeating the sisters of fates who are universal reality warpers and has destiny hacks to even killing Zeus himself the god of all Olympian gods and who is arguably more powerful than everyone I just stated. Now Kratos is even more powerful in the latest series of the game especially after absorbing and embodying the spirit of HOPE itself which can allow Kratos to combat beings that are intangible and that are literal concepts…….. This is why I hate people who enjoy the series only after god of war 2018. They fail to realise who Kratos is now, I see a lot of people thinking characters like superman and Thor can beat him due to basing his strength only off god of war 2018. Despite Kratos killing gods and titans who literally shaped the universe but used earth to reside, atlas held up the sky which is an insane feat but doesn’t sound like that much, Kratos held his own easily. Kratos needs a movie or a show adaptation to flesh out and give us more content for god of war because we don’t have enough

Kratos was always a deep character. Realizing and hating himself for the monster he was. Abandoning his daughter and never seeing her again to save the world, haunted by his failure to save his brother and the list goes on. He was ALWAYS a deep character.

Why everybody think Kratos wasn't a deep character? He wasn't a 1 dimensional character. He showed a range of emotions through the first trilogy. How is he supposed to be when he was forced to leave his daughter and forsake her forever. That's insurmountable rage coming from any real Man🤌🏽. His actions are justifiable when you take into account the time he lived in. He wasn't living in 1990. He living when these things he's doing are the normal and it's what he has to do to survive and under the auspices that he the only one of his family left

Why does everyone make it seem like he’s so innocent now he’s legit still doing the same thing he was doing in the old one killing gods. the primordials in gow are not universe scale, you just have to see thanatos and gaia. also that wouldn´t make sense keeping in mind all mythologies coexist in the gow universe. One thing is the greek myths and other the game
