Talking about speed, I don't belive Captain Marvel can move at the speed of light at all. She can travel all that distance so fast because when she starts to build up speed she actually bend space. Similar to how ships do it on Guardians 1 and 2, but she can do it naturally. That, however, can't translate to actual movement, like combat. Because if she is actually traveling from one galaxy to the other, speed of light would still be TOO SLOW to do it in days. Space bending also makes sense with her powers coming from the Space Stone.

The only way to physically actually travel across space faster than light is actually to bend space, using something called a warp drive, which is a sort of engine that frees energy and controls gravity waves to bend space. If captain marvel can do this naturally then she could create black holes, access a higher four dimensional universe to travel across wormholes and control the very fabric of space around her. To do that physically isn’t plausible except if we use the hyperlight theory, which is somewhat how her powers work. Hyperlight is light that is strewn together with bent space, creating energy that is extremely powerful but also really stable, being attracted to dinámica reactions such as living beings, and overcharge them, giving them enhanced strength, resistance, speed, reflexes, agility and intelligence. If the discharge was too great it would also allow them to free this energy in destructive bursts. The problem is that it may grow unstable without some augmentations, so it may actually harm the body by creating these bursts. It’s just a theory though. It would be like having the power stone with a mix of the powers of negasonic teenage warhead.

If for instance captain marvel could go 99% light speed she would get to her destination very very very quickly for her, however for us stood still (relatively...) on earth it would take her millions of years to get here. If you’re talking a ‘warp drive’ like in star trek then no, just no. Physical impossibility, if she made herself weigh a lot so that the gravity around her bends space it would not actually contract distances in front of her all that much. Therefore, at minimum, the energy required to power the US electrical grid per year is over 3000 megatons. That number would be significantly higher if you included Central America and Canada (so it would be a continent). The tsar bomb ( bomb in history) yielded 50 megatons and had a max theoretical yield of 100 megatons. That means, at minimum, the energy used by a fraction of the North American continent per year is the equivalent of 300 of the largest nuclear weapon ever constructed. If you wanted to do that per day, you would simply divide by 365. Point is, it burnt thanos arm, but it didn’t have lots of other collateral damage. I’m thinking it’s possible they meant the excess energy is enough to power a continent. Could be totally wrong though

As someone that's trained MMA, I really like the theory that Thanos isn't necessarily stronger than the Hulk, but instead is one of the only characters in the MCU that actually studied hand-to-hand combat rather than relying on superpowers. If you watch superhero movies as a boxer, everyone is noticeably terrible at punching, but it's never an issue due to their sheer strength. (Seriously, picture Superman in a boxing match minus his powers.) Thanos is fascinating because he has technique, and his fight with the Hulk shows that he's not just stronger, but a much more technical fighter than Thor.

Spiderman’s “FTL” feats are done in Iron Spider Suit. Black Panther was confident that he would be able to take those shots. Cap got shot because he only tried to block instead of running away. Thanos’ dogs were just savagely attacking without plan. Wanda isn’t FTL yet. There is a difference between travel and combat speed. Carol’s beams can travel faster than her and Thanos blocked her beams. Characters considered FTL(combat): Worthy Captain America,Bleeding Edge Iron Man,Thor,Captain Marvel

Gavin Jones , Ronan wasn’t using the stone at the time he got run over by a space ship, didn’t even give him a scratch, and then star lord shot him with the hadron gun or whatever it was called. A space ship crashing into ronan a kree, would have killed him if he didn’t posses the power stone. When he was shot with the Missile he may have had It activated , but he definitely didn’t when he was run over.

When you calculate Carol's speed you also have to consider momentum of moving through a vacuum. That's how our satellites can travel as fast as they do. Objects movi g through space gain more and more momentum as they travel multiplying the actual energy output used to thrust them forward potentially infinitely given nothing gets in the way. Honestly it's probably more impressive that she survives that trip.

I think the whole Carol speed issue can be explained away by separating travel speed and combat speed. She can fly at massively faster than light speeds in space because she's typically moving in a straight line and doesn't have to worry about little things like stripping the atmosphere from a planet through friction alone. Even though she travels at faster than light, her reaction times/physical movements wouldn't necessarily have to be FTL for her to do so, just like a fighter pilot doesn't need supersonic reflexes to pilot a fighter jet.

@@habfan1018 not every use of the power stone is proportional. In GOTG they explain that the stones destruction is based on the amount of life and organic matter its touching. So, the idea is it becomes planetary when attacking a planet. Its a variable attack. That said this whole channel works off false equivalences. The number of times an attack is declared to be "planetary" yet a tree 10 foot away from the attack is still standing, is just ridiculous. Newsflash, a city destruction level attack is like a nuclear blast, you can't block a nuke with an axe, or your fist, or a shield no matter what magical bullshittium its made of. None of the avengers have attacks that are "island" or "continent" or "planetary". If they did. EARTH WOULD BE FUCKING GONE!

The fact that he doesn't, especially in Endgame where he has every reason and intent to kill his opponents outright is proof enough that Thanos cannot exert "gigatons" of crushing force with his bare hands. @@thememe1473 Spider-Man has a reason to hold back against thugs because he doesn’t wanna kill them. In Endgame Thanos always tried to kill his opponents. In Infinity War he was about to execute Tony Stark. Oh and in Spider-Man Homecoming we actually do see Spider-Man knock out thugs in one hit, because he could kill them in one hit if he tried, but because he moderates his strength, he doesn’t. And Thanos? You can very clearly see that he is capable of moderating his strength to any degree he wants, as he punched Captain America with just the right force to knock him unconscious without punching his head clean off like he should be capable of. If Thanos can exert gigatons of force with ease, and yet can also hold back his strength to a fraction of that to knock Captain America unconscious, he should be able to do that to many other characters like Iron Man, except Iron Man is able to withstand a full flurry of punches from Thanos. And yet this doesn’t matter, because he would have gone all out in Endgame given his explicit aim to kill all the Avengers, he was not trying to leave any of them alive and yet he does not show himself capable of that kind of strength at all in that battle. Thanos cannot exert gigatons of force with his fist. He can’t, or he would have done so in Endgame.

One point to make is that not all firearms fire rounds that are faster than the speed of sound, there are sub-sonic and super-sonic rounds. Rifles are typically super-sonic, handgun calibers (9mm, .45acp) are typically sub-sonic.
