After the 25th anniversary of Episode 1, it seems to me that the Phantom Menace vibe is stronger than ever. Watching it again in theaters was a treat. I felt like a 7-year-old again. Merchandise is strong, the popularity of the characters and the story is strong.

When I was younger I used to hate both this film and Attack of The Clones But ever since I rewatched it in theaters for the 25th Anniversary I realise that this movie was a lot better than how I remembered it And weirdly enough, idk if it was because the audience in attendance was laughing at the same scenes But even Jar-Jar's scene's were actually kind of funny upon rewatch

The only thing I'd disagree with this video is the Prequel trilogy characters being stronger than the OT Jedi/Sith. Ignoring the powerscaling arguments for a moment, Palpatine is absolutely stronger in the OT than he is here in TPM. For one, he was weaker than his master Plagueis in TPM, having to off him while heavily intoxicated. Second, Palpatine, along with any other dark sider like Vader, would gain a massive amp in strength post Order 66 due to there being far less light in the galaxy to use, its how Palpatine goes from losing to Mace to stalemating (arguably defeating) Yoda. As for the Jedi, I'd say this is more debatable. If youre just to judge skill with a lightsaber, then yes, formally trained Jedi like Qui Gon, ObiWan, etc are going to have an advantage over Luke whos training more focused on his connection to the light and usage of the force. Overall, however, Jedi like Cal Kestis, Starkiller, Luke Skywalker would do quite well in the Prequel era but wouldnt beat the top heavy hitters i.e Plo Koon, Mace Windu, Yoda, Anakin, etc. Tl;dr The Jedi were stronger politically during TPM but in regards to power, the OT Jedi were stronger than most Prequel Jedi. Palpatine of the OT and Darth Vader would destroy Maul, Dooku, any other dark side entity of the Prequels.

But the point here is not that those quotes confirm Maul is stronger, those quotes alone aren’t what makes Maul strong, what makes him strong is the very point of the TPM Darkness is that it’s stronger than ever, that’s a movie story point set up by Lucas, and Maul embodies that darkness, so you don’t need to use those quotes, they are just more commentary on what’s in the films which unlike the individual quotes isn’t bound by OOU dating

But wouldn't Valkorion generally lose to Palpatine even if he was stronger in the force? Which I do believe he is, thing is, he is a bad duelist, merely beaten by a jedi knight if I remember correctly. Sidious is strong in the force on his own, so Vitiate can't just blast him into oblivion
