Guam is American soil with 200k American citizens. An attack on Guam would be similar to an attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in 1941. Any attacker of Guam will feel the full power of a United States military response.

The Fleet stationed in Pear Harbor, at the time was one of the largest Naval fleets, one well planned attack crippled our naval fleet for months. It's not who is claiming to be on our side now but who will be on our side if a war starts. China's military has been wanting to prove they are stronger. Russia is not a certain. WW1 started with a small event. North Korean people are every bit as fanatics as the Japanese were in WW2. We have a commander with zero military experience, diplomatic experience with a habit of firing people who disagree with him. My hope is that this averted . The problem I see is , 2 individuals that feel that have something to prove. And that is dangerous!

Japan The best navy in Asia has a total of 114 warships and 45,800 volunteer personnel. It has a large fleet of fast, powerful destroyers, thoroughly modern diesel-electric attack submarines, and amphibious ships that can haul tanks and other ground forces. It can hunt submarines, square off against invasion fleets, and shoot down enemy ballistic missiles. Despite all of that firepower, this is not in fact a navy at all, but an armed cohort of civil servants. Technically, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is a “self-defense force” designed to overcome the country’s constitutional limits on armed forces. It is, ship for ship, the best navy in Asia. China is modernizing its navy and air force but is not ready for global war just yet..

An Arleigh Burke class destroyer just got taken out by a freighter vessel by ramming the destroyer. It is believed the freighter was using some new "jamming" mechanism to disable the destroyers defenses, and this was a successful demonstration of it's use. So tell me again how these "modern" destroyers are going to defend our naval forces when a freighter can ram one of the ships, and nearly sink it? This was absolutely a demonstration event of this technology for the US naval forces. There is no way this event was an accident.

The event was covered extensively in the alternative press. I watched many videos on KZbin covering the event, with extensive explanations on each video. Just search the usual alt places and you will find what you are looking for. This event was hushed up quickly by the US forces. I mean would you want to admit that a cargo ship was able to ram you in the sea channels, and you couldn't or were unable to avoid it? Even if it was a total accident, which it wasn't, it would have shown total carelessness by the uS Navy. This was a demonstration of a new weapons system in use by the Chinese. As a side note, the Russians have also used this weapon in an aerial flyby of a Russian jet directly over---you guessed it, another Arleigh Burke class destroyer. Another demonstration that this "best in class" US weapons system , is now useless in real world applications. That story is also available in the alt press. It was also hushed up quickly as you might imagine. This new electronic jamming device used by the Russians and the Chinese, totally kills any advantage the US forces supposedly have in the real battlefield. BUT, I think the US has a satelite killer system that can laser beam a rocket launch right off the pad, effectively cancelling that advantage. But can they whack all launches at the same time from different locations? We may never know.

@ Carter ... The US has shown it's military hardware in war, so it's a little hard to call it just "propaganda".All one has to do is look on line.NK has no real military abilities, other than the relative few nuclear warheads they have. They have unreliable delivery systems with questionable range.Either Lil Kim goes all out, or he does nothing. All out means he MIGHT have a possibility of one warhead getting through. Then after that he has spit balls.

I am glad you talked about the Trident Submarines though you really didn't mention at all about the SSGNs. There are currently two SSGN's , USS Michigan and USS Ohio, that are forward deployed in Guam. Navy tries to always have one of the submarines forward deployed in Guam (or some location out and about in Asia), though at times both submarines could be around Guam. SSGN's can carry up to 154 tomahawk missiles, carry out special forces missions, and other missions needed. SSGN's make frequent port calls (often just liberty ports) to South Korea. When this happens, North Korea always gets a bit nervous.

Guam can be seized in operations for a few days if runways are hit, and a week or two if facilities are hit, but those hit will mean nothing if they aren't kept under consistant pressure. China would be more capable of taking over the territory since the only thing they're currently lacking is air power projection(aka: Carriers) Noth Korea aging ships and subs will not be able to reach them before being ambushed. They also don't have the range.

THAAD is an SM-3, Patriot is SM-2. The Missile destroyers can carry both and these destroyers and have the full THAAD/Aegis system radar already. There are 3 carrier groups around North Korea which include 6 of these missile destroyers. The best thing about the B1B is it can carry 144 small 250 pound GPS guided bombs that have a cruse range of 15 miles and can be programmed to target individual assets. The B-52 can carry only 20, but they are MUCH large 2000 pound bombs. There are also likely 6 addition submarines attached to the carrier group. Total the US likely has close to a thousand Tomahawk missiles on hand there right now. With support from the carriers the US could take out every air defense, artillery, and missile system along the border with South Korea as well as every ICBM launch pad in one go.
