How preload works on my coil fork

While washing my bike, I noticed one of the nuts in the lowers were loose and the entire right leg was filled with water. Out of curiosity, I tightened the nut and tried compressing my fork and as expected it was “locked out”. I guess that’s how you get a ‘hydraulic lock out’ on these cheap suntour coil fork.

Nah,they lock out because they cant take extreme pressure or jump and lock breaks, also they corrode inside,so yeah,stucks

Nothing,its just a funny design,cause they don't have they strength to regulate coil suspension,if its oil or air filter suspension thats another matter

I don't understand ... From what I can see, it is an ordinary damper with two springs. Whatever fluid was at the bottom, pressing several times would remove the air, not the fluid. I suppose the water is supplied from the bottom of the damper for the recording ...

I had this happen on a 2012 pair of rocshox judys loved those forks but they were kod had literal years worth of water internally corroding everything and no one ever noticed until one day i went to the lbs and shook my front end for them and explained they were filled with water to the dam brim and that i only realized from the weight difference💀😂

I just got airbike forks cheap af but fairly good I've tested them on some rough trail and tech and they held their own my old masura ones bottomed out on small jumps and was unajustable, came with a disclaimer not for mountain biking no sht mate 😂
