@@MidnighterClub 30 to 40 years ago an Asian engineer designed a triangle wheeled bike, with rubber tires, and a mechanism to counter the up and down action that would occur with triangular wheels. It was a hoot, and was featured in some magazine, at the time. I even think the seat accounted for the up and down action, too. Totally ridiculous, but very clever.

Imagine improving the mechanism for reduced friction and add some kind of pivot suspension and even electric motors in both “wheels?”. Since balancing seems easier at slower speeds could be a self driven bike AI powered… Thumbs up for creating, it’s beautiful, the “discouraging” comments are just for fun. 😂 I wish I was a millionaire to fund the project and invest just to see few iterations 😅 … the limitation of foldable bikes is the wheel size, this would probably solve it.

Engineering ingenuity but the end result is more effort for little reward [peddling the bike & distance achieved] vs a round wheel.

This is clearly just a start. I could see a use for it and I could see it going further! You could probably make it quiter and could probably make it electric and could probably use it for long distance travel/hiking to cary more things. There is a lot of potential! Not every effort is going to result in the greatest innovation of all time, but all these cumulative efforts of tinkering and trying and learning and sharing and inspiring may end up doing exactly that. Ive ridden dozens of bikes and not one has been this precarious and sketchy, turning on that doesn't look comfortable at all. if this was a commercial product, where are you gonna get replacement treads? from the manufacturer? the markup and delay compared to a traditional tried and tested bike is just not it. thought I think that this idea is inherently well executed just not something I'd ride for longer than 30 seconds just for the experience

@@malus1426 Not at all! I see a lot of honest opinions here that are framed as constructive criticism, and I have no problem with that, that's an important part of the learning and sharing process. But some are downright disparaging, and those are the ones that seem to be missing the spirit of the creative and innovative process. People can share honest opinions about how something turned out without tearing down the very important process of experimenting with new ideas in the first place.

If you notice as he's riding his bike in the park no one is around. That's because you can hear it two or three miles away. so just imagine how loud it sounds up close and in person!

Actually, without "wheels" this wouldn't even work, as the internal "wheels" or wheels iwth spikes on them called gears that grab the chain are still round! My vote this is dumb point O!

"Got it to work" as long as it's cycled on perfectly smooth asphalt, in a straight line, while encountering no pebbles or debris. It's the whole "spherical chickens in a vacuum" thing, with extra steps.

Frankly, you should lay down the tracks on the ground, increase the contact area. Then you would have a tracked bicycle that could go over soft ground, sand, mud etc. That would not have been so entirely useless. Also you might consider changing the drive gear ratios.

@@arina9153 You're wrong though. You just bend the tracks slightly, that the ends have less pressure, and make the front track shorter, and it will turn just fine.
