Some report Prince left so much unreleased music behind that he could have released a new album every year for the next century. He was also in the process of writing a memoir before his death.
Prince continues to greatly impact the world. As you watch this, tens of thousands of people around the world are currently listening to a Prince song. He won 8 Grammy Awards, 6 American Music Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and even an Oscar for Purple Rain. To date, Prince has sold over 100 million records worldwide. Around half of those in the United States alone. Today, tsort.info, the most comprehensive collection of popular music data around, ranks Prince has the 16th most successful musical act of all time.
One of the most prolific and accomplished songwriters, producers, and musicians of all-time, Prince Rogers Nelson single handedly changed popular music forever. He invented what became known as “Minneapolis sound,” the mix of funk, R&B, electronic, and rock music that influenced so many who came after him. He was incredibly unique, often demanding everyone in the industry follow him. He never chased trends, he created them. And while the world continues to miss him, he has left so much behind for all of us to continue to enjoy.

Im from minnesota and we love all of prince's songs, if you have parents aged 30-45 knowing prince's music is pretty much required knoweledge but if there is one song from prince that minnesota loves its "lets go crazy" all of our sports teams use lets go crazy in some way shape or form and its in the song list for the university of minnesota marching band and a few years ago after he died there was a petition to make purple our official state color and "lets go crazy" a state song.

I was asked myself. Who did he think needed to have all this music out there. I was exhausted with his output. I couldn't keep up with it all. But, I loved and revered his creativity. Incredible work ethic. People got up to go and pee. Prince got up and went to work. That's why there is anathema of acerbic music haters who think they are legit. But , what they didn't know Prince needed to get that out of his system. It's like relieving one self. Music for him was like that. He said once in an interview that the music was therapy for him.

It's impossible to choose a favourite Prince song! That's like choosing a favourite child...Been a Prince fan since 1986, saw him 59 times live in Europe. It's a pity you only focussed on the albums and not the concerts. Prince was the greatest performer of all time. His concerts in Europe sold out everytime. He especially had a huge following in Holland & Belgium. He also used to do impromptu aftershows, which I was lucky enough to attend to several, where he would perform in small clubs a jam like or improvisational show. Prince was a musical genius. There will never be another like him :'-(

he wasn't a poor student from what I read, in fact, he graduated early because he wanted to get HS out of the way.

I remember in the early 90s the name TAFKAP acronym for The Artist Formely Known As Prince was used, don't remember it being "The Artist", that probably came afterwards but at that time when not saying Prince DJ's and people would say TAFKAP.

A musically genius talent. He may be thee greatest musician - ever. People don’t generally understand how outstanding he is. Just guitar? He may be the greatest ever. Right there with Jimi or anybody. But that was just the start; he did it all.

The Rainbow Children is my favorite Prince album. It’s Funk and Jazz with an unbelievable band. It’s about Love, Sex, marriage, Religion and Black history. It’s so rich and colorful. He really put his all into it.

I've always known about Prince. The older folks in my life loved him. I always associated Purple, Guitars, and his Screaming(?) with him. But I guess I never really listened to his music on my own. I guess the most id seen on my own was his Batman 89 music videos. But in 2016 I started listening to his music. Like 2 months before he passed away. I was really enjoying to what I was listening to. And then he died. And I felt kinda weird because everybody loved him. Everyone was so devastated, understandably. I didn't feel like I could mourn him properly. I liked him and his music but I wasn't a fan fan. People I knew were crying and blasting his music even more. All the tv shows and news outlets were re airing interviews or performances. I was seeing more of Prince than i had in my life at that point. But he was gone. Idk why but I stopped listening to his music. Until this year. And man it's amazing stuff. It still feels weird. I'm not sure why. There are plenty of artists who passed away whose music I enjoy. Queen(Freddie Mercury) , Selena, Bob Marley, NWA (Eazy-E). But i guess those people died long before I was born or consious of what I liked in music. And Prince was still kicking and full on making stuff when he passed. The only other artist who I feel the same way about that is David Bowie. I guess I shoukd start up listening to his music again too.... Anyway, I'm kinda sad I didn't fully get into Prince a little earlier. I had plenty of time to do it. But also would Prince care what time I listened to his music? Heck, Mozart is centuries gone and we still kick to his music. Idk sorry for the long comment, I'm high AF and kinda meloncholy. But damn what a life and career. I didn't know I had so. Many albums to look forward to lol Favorite song? Uptown, Kiss or Baby I'm a Star.
