Deep breathing and visualization have been the most helpful to me especially taking when i am taking pens in important games, when ever i vizulize my self scoring it gives me a boost of confidence, and when i take deep breaths it helps calm me down. Great tips everyone should follow.

Im a footballer who once was playing with fear and I think the best way to overcome it is through repetition and the practice of how could your game play out after this I quickly got my spot in the starting xi

The techniques are really good and the gradual exposure sounds really good. How would you expose yourself to the fear of thinking about what others think about you and controlling yourself when you make a mistake so you have the courage to keep making risks?
@SamMartinPeakPerformance4 ай бұрын
Start by visualizing situations where you might feel judged or make errors in a relaxed environment. Gradually expose yourself to these scenarios, beginning with low-pressure practice sessions and incrementally increasing the intensity as you build confidence. Throughout the process, use relaxation techniques like deep breathing to stay calm and reinforce your progress.

Sam, I have this technique which I think you should make a video about, when playing a football match I tend to create small objectives in between plays not sure if you’ve done this already

My biggest problem with all the mental skills is that I always expect them to make me play better. After I learn a skill or try something mentally I think that I am immediately going to play better and then it does not happen and I get disappointed.
@SamMartinPeakPerformance4 ай бұрын
@@pavlemugosa if you go to the gym once, do you get a six pack? The clue is in the name - mental "skills". Every skill takes time and practice to get good at. You know that's the case for all physical and technical skills, why would you expect it to be different for mental skills? Be patient

how do i make a training plan perfect
@SamMartinPeakPerformance4 ай бұрын
perfection doesn't exist
@LahoriZyqay4 ай бұрын
Agreed, but we can optimise it to its fullest for sure, try to first identify what available resources you have and set goals by the end of summer that you want to achieve. For example in football, you may not be very good at dribbling, so you could structure your sessions with drills and exercises to help improve that area and your goal may be to drastically improve your dribbling and ball control. Additionally, you could work on mastering some skull moves for 1v1s or 2v1s aswell. Hope this helps.
@kwilson20064 ай бұрын
First off, perfection doesn’t exist, Sam says you can strive for perfection but knowing that you can’t reach perfection. That way when you find a training plan that is effective , commit and strive to it each and every time, be 100% in the plan, getting you to higher areas. All like a pattern at the end.

Yo bro, I feel like I lack concentration in games and have trouble staying focused for the full 90 mins (soccer) and staying switched on. Any videos or tips?
@SamMartinPeakPerformance4 ай бұрын
your ability to focus is a trainable skill. I'd recommend incorporating mindfulness and concentration exercises into your routine, like focusing techniques or breathing exercises before games. Make it a daily habit to train the mind to build mental stamina 👍

In tennis, i messed up part of my backhand (technique) and that lessened my confidence on it a lot. Is there a way to fix my backhand in the quickest and mos effective possible way?
@SamMartinPeakPerformance4 ай бұрын
Follow the steps in the video For you anxiety hierarchy think about various 'steps' to climb up. E.g. practicing backhand with coach, practicing backhand during rallys with a friend, and eventually work your way up to performing backhands in competitive matches. All the while, use relaxation techniques to extinguish feelings of nerves/anxiety. And as a tip, for stuff like this there are no 'quick fixes'. You don't get physically fit from going to the gym once. And it's the same with mental fitness, you have to persist and stick to it for weeks and months
