Hi Sergei. Crystal clear explanations on how to handle the freediving buoy. Very good advices on the right knots, the placement order on the carabine, and so on that will make freediving sessions much easiers. Thank you!

Hi Sergey, the figure eight knot is the best of all the three knots you are presenting the clove hitch is known to be slipping too. That is the reason why boaters are always securing it with an additional knot tying their fender.
@KAIZENFREEDIVING5 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter! There is no such knot as the "best not" 😎 In climbing some climbers love 8, some bowline. Everything has advantages and disadvantages. 8 more difficult to untie, when the rope is wet. But of course it is more "secure"👍😎

Try the munter hitch for the diving line. It's easy, dynamic and can replace a pulley system - add or deduct rope lenght/depth w/o changing knots bet clove hitch and 8 loop.
@KAIZENFREEDIVING2 жыл бұрын
Munter hitch will work, for sure. But after start using pulley system once, there is no reason to do anything else. It's much more convenient for setting the depth, as well as bringing the rope back :)

Great video. My comment is that I would make the distance from the ball stop and anchor longer (longer than the distance of safety lanyard to prevent possible entanglement).

Thanks! It’s a nice video! If you have time, could you also introduce how and where to connect the red line if we’re not going to boat diving? For example, just a normal training nearby the coast? I saw my instructor connect it to the floating ball under the sea ever but I don’t know exactly how to do it.
@KAIZENFREEDIVING4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a good idea for one of my next video😉
@MikeInNature Жыл бұрын
Hi Sergei! thanks for all the great videos you make I really appreatiate it, I know it's a lot of work! As a climber that is starting to freedive I kind of cringe a couple of times on this one LOL! I'll trade you a session of freediving tips for a session of rope management and knots :) Just kidding I'll gladly share with you my knowledge for free, feel free to shoot me message anytime.
@KAIZENFREEDIVING Жыл бұрын
Haha, thx! I used to be an outdoor rock climber myself for years. Sadly, I don't have time anymore. Only indoor bouldering now. After the pulley device was introduced in freediving, there is not that much need for rope management and knots. The simple bowline is more than enough for 99,99% of situations.
@Stevens350XWB5 жыл бұрын
Great useful video. What about the carabiner size? Which one do you prefer? Sometimes I'm using two of them. It helps me to adjust the depth. May be you can mention this technique as well?
@KAIZENFREEDIVING5 жыл бұрын
Look like I need to do a second video😉 if carabiner small, then yes, better two. But if big, one is enough. But thx for the comment!
