Tbh, overweight Arthur isn't even that fat. His double chin does look very bad on him, but his build is that of a brute, which makes sense cuz he is the enforcer of the gang. Spoilers On my first playthrough, Arthur was overweight because I always wanted to make sure he ate well, so when Arthur gets TB, the weight loss was so sad and sudden it made the ending so much more emotional for me.

Even faster way: Turning Arthur into a moonshine alcoholic. When you drink in game, you will gain weight as soon as you pass out from it. Fastest way to pass out: Moonshine (around 5-6 drinks to hit the floor) - Rinse and repeat till you're fat. Took me around 15 minutes to go from underweight to overweight

I really love this kind of motivation for eating in a game. Even without the permanent threat of dying from starvation, there is a strong motivation for the player to go fishing, hunting in order to eat regularly and not getting those debuffs. That would be a great foundation for any future survival game, instead of just the “need” to eat, in oder not to die within 30min playtime. Sorry for the bad English, I hope you get the idea 😅

Actually, getting fat is kinda broken in rdr2 because you can eat like a ot of food and you will still loose weight while for example fast-traveling. The best way of getting fat is just drink moonshine until you pass out, then eat a ton of food and you do it over and over again.

i read somewhere that binge eating doesn’t really have that much an effect immediately and just wastes a bunch of food. i always struggle with not feeding arthur and my rdo character so they’re always skinny and i wanted them to be heavier. what you have to do is eat 4 meals a day of big game meat (which you said has to most calories in your video :) and alcohol and have a lot of snacks in between like chocolate, chips, and jelly beans. this is probably the most effective way i’ve learned and it’s basically just what you do to get fat in real life speaking from experience haha

Actually, you could probably do it even faster if you did prep work ahead of time. Kill all the gators you can find, then cook them all, and store them in the satchel, you're allowed 99 of each... plain, minty, oregano, and sage, so just under 400 big game meals. Power chow them all just after midnight, and do one screen fade and see what happens.

It's very late to say this but the speed on which you gain or lose weight depends on how much you have eaten since the start of the game. If you have ate nothing since the start of the game and want to gain it a while later it will be very difficult to gain. It goes both ways, if you have aten a lot of food since the start it will be harder to lose it and eating small meals can make you gain more weight than it normally would.

I know a pretty fast way that increases Arthur’s weight in chapter 6 as well: Step 1: go to any bar that offers food and rooms. Step 2: get the 5 dollar meal twice. Step 3: sleep in the room(camping works too, you just need the screen transition. Repeat and you will gain weight, I’m currently in the lasts 3 missions chapter six and I’m still overweight.
