New York State resident, I bought a pistol shotgun and ammo at the same time. It was approved in that order took 10 minutes to get a proceed shotgun was 30 minutes and ammo was an hour. zero logic whatsoever.

If the "excuse" is to keep "all" of the people of the state "safe". Then ALL of the people of that state should have to Pay Hochuls Background Check Fee!

Imagine banning all non residents from using semi auto guns for hunting. Mass just did that ! Also made inline muzzle loaders a banned item for non resident hunters, and now require some kind of permit for powder and bullets for smoke poles.

If any NY State gun owner wants to buy ammo without a background check, and you live within 50 miles of the Pennsylvania border, get to a sporting goods dealer in that state to buy your ammo. The chances of that state requiring background checks of ammo buyers is slim to non existent, at least during this month October 2024
