Incredibly valuable video! Please do cover your thoughts on Clubhouse as well- and how artists can effectively utilise it to create communities with their fans! It’s for a much less tech savvy audience but serves the same purpose of Teri way communication with multiple people on the community! Cheers 🥂

how? no offense, just based off of what they request you have 20 monthly listeners and hardly any views. pretty much the opposite of what they look for
@yvngnova8949
@yvngnova8949 3 жыл бұрын
@@borattopaz4592 for context I’m a Nigerian and most of my listeners are from Nigeria. My last release real release was January of last year and Nigerians didn’t have Spotify till a couple of months ago. Other than that I’m still by no means doing big numbers but I have my career in order. I’ve been played on multiple national radio stations, been on national TV, been on a few blogs in and out of the country (smaller ones), charted on iTunes, I’ve claimed my knowledge panel on google, etc. One of the things AWAL says they consider is well thought out marketing plans and such. I feel like I showed that I won’t just be releasing music and hoping for them to do all the work and maybe that’s why I got in. Got in pretty quickly too, not up to 3 hours, but I’m still not 100% sure what convinced them. Maybe it was just my amazing music.

@@yvngnova8949 show me proof that awal accepted you, i don't believe it. Not that your music isnt good, i heard it. It sounds good. But awal looks for artists already starting to be established and with a certain following. I applied for awal and got rejected but I have 3.4k subscribers, 100k views total on my music, 500 soundcloud followers. It could be that i temporarily deactivated my instagram and forgot that I had applied to awal so they probably thought i didnt have an instagram. I have 2.3k followers on insta. And also have a knowledge panel. I'll try applying to them again this time with my instagram active

I’m looking to start a record label can I use AWAL for distribution and manage my artist is this feasible
@borattopaz4592
@borattopaz4592 3 жыл бұрын
I have a question about age, labels and distribution companies. If an artist has really good music, a strong fanbase, good streams and overall pretty much everything that a 20 something year old has but the only difference is hes 30+ like 30-32 years old. Does that matter to labels or companies that just do distribution? Like will a distribution company like awal, kobalt, orchard music, believe music, vidiya, etc not want to sign a distribution deal with him and pitch his songs to playlists, blogs etc. or do the distribution companies work the same as labels and really really care about age. Im an artist and im 27 and building a fanbase again as i lost some of my fanbase but I have 100k views total on my music. 45k views on my first official music video. Also currently have 3.4k subscribers on my artist page. Im just wondering if age plays a factor in distribution deals. I know the answer for major labels and even indie ones. If someone could answer this for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Labels say they want younger artists but if an older artist built a fanbase, I'm sure they would invest. The Internet has changed the landscape

I wouldn't say the unwisest but also wouldn't be wise depending on the situation. If you have great music and understand your vision as an artist and understand BUSINESS then u can negotiate for a more equal deal, etc. Relying on a record label though to make you big is usually the big mistake most artists make but if you have just as much leverage as the label and find that win win, the label and deal is on your side and team.
