Cardi B isn’t a good example. You can’t take an artist like Cardi B or Taylor Swift two artist with gigantic cooperate machines pushing their brands pouring millions into marketing campaigns. You need promotion and exposure before marketing. Marketing comes from already making enough capital off the song to even CREATE a marketing campaign. Be careful when you use big named artist when using examples. It takes $ to make money but it’s a process and you have to take it step by step. The most valuable part of you is your music and getting into YOUR own specific niche and then feeding that niche with more great music and releasing it consistently. But promoting your songs and getting them proper exposure are honestly 70% of what makes a song successful. When I hear “‘marketing” in the music industry I think, ads, posters, billboards, and music videos in how your song gets to be perceived. But that isn’t something up and coming artist should be focusing on. Not until their songs do enough work for them to even have that extra cash to do any of that. Because the rest of that costs money. You need organic promotion and exposure. Then the rest will follow based upon the audiences reaction to the “product” or “song”.

Record labels are not STILLING artist money. First of all, this game is not designed for the artist to make money from sell or the record. Its always been designed for an artist to make money on shows appearances and endorsement. Artist sign the contract and then cry they getting beat.... but they are now BIG!!!.

It’s all about the intention. As within, so without, as above, so below. You can’t get big and manifest many followers if you’re frustrated or fearfully trying to push your product unto others. Music is spiritual and it cannot be faked. Almost all the musicians that I look up to made it organically. Where they reached a state of professionalism that comes with practicing for more than 10 thousand hours. Once u reach that state, that frequency of being, you naturally attract situations that get your music heard: either through meeting musicians that already have influence or other connections. We gotta be honest with ourselves as to why we make this music in the first place. Those who truly love music will not have the intentions of trying to manipulate their way through. They’ll just create.

The "classism in artistry." Yup it's a huge trap designed to keep artists in a certain mentality which makes them easier to exploit
