“As long as I can walk and I can talk, I will be telling the story of the holocaust,” says survivor, teacher and lecturer Renee Firestone. Why? Because according to her, society has learned nothing since the holocaust. Firestone also shares the anguish of losing her friends, family and neighbors, and the guilt of being the only survivor of her clan left to tell the story.

Thankfully, Mrs. Firestone is still alive and living in So. Cal. She's 98. It's incredible that she survived the holocaust and is still with us today. There is an excellent video on youtube from 1994 when she is interviewed by the USC Shoah Foundation. She tells the incredible story of her life, and the video also shows her return to Auschwitz. The stories she tells are hard to believe, but they really happened.
