One point about animal population. You have a number of animals on your map to begin with. This doesnt increase by finding need zones, finding the need zones just means you are finding the animals so in finding more need zones it seems like theres more animals but there isnt, you have just discovered them. This is why when need zones seem to go quiet it shjows you have still to find need zones in order to find the population. The polulation isnt dictated by how many need zones you have its the same if you have no need zones as if you have found all need zones. you see more animals simply because you have found them.

I came here to listen to what she had to say about respawns, but stopped the video as soon as I heard this blatantly false claim. It was like that before. If you had only like elk need zones then you had elks walking around everywhere. Could hardly find another animal. When did they changed that?

Did you go round looking at the ground to find need zones or did you find them by spotting the animal using it? Finding need zones doesnt populate your map or change where the animals are. on a fresh untouched map the population and where th eneed zones are is decided at th every beginning and only changes as need zones are deleted or maps get reset

From my observations - animals don't need a time change to respawn, in most cases they seem to respawn pretty constantly when hunting on a particular reserve. As Jaxy mentioned in his respawn video (about 1,5 year ago) there are certain respawn points on every reserve and animals pop up there constantly, but after respawn they have to move to their current need zones they were assigned to. That's why the time change comes in handy (they are transferred to proper zones in an instant).

Time change speeds up the process tremendously. I go back to zones I’ve been to when grinding, nothing there. Change the time, there they are.

@@LadyLegendXO When you go back to the zone you're grinding you won't see any new respawns, because they're far away from their drink zone travelling from respawn point to join the herd they have been assigned to. After time change all animals from all herds are transferred to positions they supposed to be at that time and then they come to the drink zones. That's why you can see the respawns after time change. If you follow the herd after drink time to another zone and patiently wait without time change, you would see the respawns joining the herd eventually. Time change speeds up the process of joining the herds by respawned animals, not the respawn itself 🙂

I thought Zones existed and stayed on the map even if you havent discover them?...Ive had no problems finding animals with no zones previously spotted? (As the Zones are there, but they are just undiscovered)...animals are everywhere if you look in the right spots @ the right times, hence pre- Zone discovery has never been a priority for me, walk, spot, shoot! - done!!😊( I love the ASMR feel of just walking around the maps lol....so many beautiful locations!) Herd management gets great results. I did my Red Deer GO grind in Cuatro Calinos and only killed 4s and above with the occasional 3s going down out of pique. I finished with 4 GOs after harvesting around 3500, with some 25 diamonds in the mix. I bagged the first with much excitement and was so addicted to the grind I kept going. 3 days later I got my second. The day after that my third. The day after that my fourth. Yes! 3 in 3 days. The strategy worked so well that it took a week for the population to start to resettle into a more normal distribution. Some animals guarantee that at max level(for example level 3 for ducks) or at max weight estimate, or with a particular set of antlers it will make diamond with almost 100 percent sure. Check out different community guides and materials - all may provide these statistics on every animal species in the game. Minimum diamond score requirements, highest possible animal level, etc.

I’m grinding for a male and female rare lions (I really want an albino of both). I’m over 100 in and it’s been fun but challenging. I’ve had to move my tents and tripods around a lot because when I change the time after my first round the previous need zones are gone and they’re clustered at a need zone or the need zone is appearing right where the tent/tripod is set up. I’m wondering if I should just grind males first then females later so my need zones don’t keep changing. They still might but I’m not sure…they’re different then grinding white tail or red deer.

Hey, I just finished the quattro colinas missions, but when I did the black diamond wolf mission right before I shot the wolf turned its head and I shot the animal through the jaw and lost the diamond. First video I've seen that referenced DISCOVERED zones being the key to spawns. Nowhere in anything I've read either. There's a difference between having zones all over the map and actually discovering them. I thought, "The zones are built in to the map, where are the animals?"

I have never tried that so hard to say. If you want to spawn diamonds faster, you want to just shoot the mid to high level males. Pick 8 to 10 good zones and grind them over and over. Shooting the small ones does not help

Maybe I missed it but for respqwns to come back, hunting pressure has to be zero, correct? For instance, I killed two Grizzly on one drink zone. A level 7 and a big level 8. I let the hunting pressure go away over the course of a couple days of hunting elsewhere so I should have two solid respawns there?

Not necessarily zero but it definitely helps. Diamonds usually don't like to come back with any hunting pressure.

It doesn't mean they've come back as the opposite sex. They have not. You opened up a spot for it to spawn in which can't happen once you've found all of your zones.

I found 3 water buffalo need zones with around 20 buffalo. All different herds. There are so many buffalo that I can't even count them. I ran along the coast to find all the water buffalo need zones but every need zone said 1 animal for each zone. Is there any explanation for that? Will the zones be populated over time or am I just misunderstanding how the zones work?

Hi I'm a streamer on KZbin. I play on PS5 platform been trying to figure out how spawn works. And I have watched a lot of streams on this subject. Me and the guys I game with have tried everything I have seen streamed but nothing has worked we shot all my level 7 and 8 red deer and nothing has responded.

They move zones. They don't necessarily spawn in the same zone and they won't respawn if you're missing zones. There's always some mystery around how respawns work but I know that if you spawn a diamond and leave it, more diamonds will spawn a lot sooner. You also have to leave the smaller deer. Shoot the rest. I don't shoot 4s and below for red deer. Hope that helps

So been doing some streaming to help other gamers on what I know but this spawn thing has me stumped. I got a lot of need zones and a large number of all the animals. But when we took out the 22 level 7 and 8 mythical I do not have anything bigger than a level 6 at any of my drinking zones been playing the awaroa map for past 2 day pretty hard just to see if anything spawns back in and nothing yet but thanks for replying back.

I think I messed up. I don’t hunt Layton often. I put some time in n have about 20 whitetail zones on my map all setup for grinding. But recently 6 of those zones disappeared randomly n around 8 of those zones no longer have animals. But I can’t work out what I did. My zones are all evened out pretty well. I don’t shoot at em every day. I’ve never shot more than 3 animals per zone n it’s happening on other maps too. On silver ridge I lost a black bear zone after I killed 1.

Informative video as always, Lady. If animals only spawn in the same weight range why bother shooting the small ones at all? It would save a lot of wasted effort & a GO grind could be reduced significantly. It would also ensure rares are only ever max weight & not wasted on smaller animals.

Not shooting the smaller ones will help but it’s not easy and they will eventually jump into a higher class I think. It’s so hard to know but I shot everything and I got the great one red deer so it works. This time I’m trying not to shoot level 4s and below. See what happens. It’s not fun going to a zone and having nothing to shoot. Enjoyability is a huge factor for me. Plus they’ll be there forever if I leave them. Depends if I like the zone or not.

Is the Hirsch map broken ? i literally cannot find any need zones in the upper section of the map. i run around all the lakes and nothing ... i run in the woods and nothing. my top half of the map has pretty much no animals. bohndorf canyon is a ghost town ! all my red deer are pretty much drinking in 2 spots... i have like over 50 red deer all drinking the same spot all the time ... slows down the game big time ! should i just give up and try another map ??

Haha they have been doing that because when they update the game they have been resetting the maps and need zones. Mostly when they drop DLC and add animals to a map. New animals added means different need zones. So the devs wipe the maps.

Im trying to get a diamond mountain lion. No idea how many lions i have killed but ive only seen 2 legendary lions, 1 was a troll and the other was a bad shot. Now im not even seeing mythicals. Ive only been shooting 7's snd 8's, nothing below. Any advice?

Hi, im grinding for a GO whitetail on rancho, and ive got some good zones but alot of them are having less and less males in them and some only have 1 or 2 females left,no males respawn into those herds. What should i do to Get alot of males again?

If you lose it, it will pop up somewhere else or sometimes in the same spot

Herd management gotta be somewhat real. I started grinding for my first Red Deer Diamond shooting all males and it took me 3 weeks to get one. After that I started killing just Level 6 and above and in a week I’ve shot 2 diamonds and I’m finding Mythics like they are geese. Don’t know if I’m gonna get a Great One faster that way, but for diamonds it works wonders.

Keep going. They come in waves. You’ll get nothing for a few hundred kills then you can spawn 2 or 3 in 100 kills.

What you’re saying is dead on. I started a whitetail grind. I couldn’t find hardly any bucks. Decided to run around and search for a missing zone. I found it and it had 8 bucks in it…. After that was cleared out everything went back to normal.

re rspawns, what exactly do you mean by "leave the map"? Quit the game entirely? Exit to main menu within the map you're on, or jump to a different map? Appreciate the advice!
