I think if you want to start a new business and if you have a good capital to invest in the business then you should think about that to move another country where policy is flexible and corporate tax rate is lower. If you don't have a much more money to invest in the business in this case you can start your business in your country.

Hey, a Singaporean here. So, nice video. Even though yes there are equality gaps between rich locals and foreigners compare to the middle class and while cpf does take a big percentage away, it is not all bad for most people who just want normal lives. It really only really affect low-income earners. I would say another bright side is that safety is very good. Overall, while yes while the law is incredibly strict and often criticise on a global stage it does deter crimes.

Indian and chinese are immigrants from the beginning. That tiny island doesn't have identitiy. Even the name singa came from malay word. Ur tiny island will not last long. And will sink for the next 30-50 years. U guys dont even have water supply and ur population increases and make it more dense and dont have place to build aprtment 😂👎. Agreed; government subsidised apartments (should be referring to HDB) cost at least $1 million??? Didn't do proper research and not being fair in reporting (we do see a small number of $1 million HDB apartments in the resale market but those are rare). For an average 4-room BTO flat, you should be looking at $350K - $400K.

Just to correct, Singapore is an expensive city especially for Expat lifestyles but still have its other side. Citizens can buy government housing (accounts for 85% of population) at around US$200k, have local meals at hawker center for US$2 and relatively cheap public transport, and even shopping. The key challenge for Singapore is constantly changing to survive as country and city. So living here has to work hard and constantly pick up new skills.... or be left behind.

This is a pretty good overview of how rich some people are in Singapore, especially the government of Singapore which decided that it needed to be paid extra well for doing such a good job. It frowns upon corruption and pockets the money for everyone to see - IN YOUR FACE. The average Singaporean comes nowhere close to the upper echelones, which is accurate in this presentation. Unfortunately, they're going along for the ride to be wowed by jewels and casinos just like the tourists, struggling to stay just average.

There are HDB in resale market that were sold at 1 million and above but those are the exception. Public housing is still consider affordable but there is room for improvement. If you do not own a car, the cost of living is generally much lower. Most Singaporean don't own a car because public transport is very accessible. With the above all said.. Watching this one year after it was posted, and the mistakes are still glaring. Some basic research would have informed the proper way to reference "Lee Kuan Yew". Instead they seem to take the shotgun approach of calling him "Kuan" and "Yew", and "Lee" (in the subtitle, once). Yeah, with that approach, I am going to assume that even when correct, it was just luck. Also "Thomas Raffles". Not incorrect, but... And "Sanlosa"? Which leaves the rest of the "facts" suspect. I think I will have to try to become a billionaire some other way.
