The RAF MK3 jacket is sick and probably my favourite jacket, definitely try and get one. They've been used since the 60s and only have been phased out in the past 10ish years with the RAF MK4 (basically the same pattern of jacket but made out of goretex instead of gaberdine). Most of the ones you'll find on ebay are from the 00s and 10s as the older one are a lot rarer and more expensive. The older patterns were grey (like the ones used in alien) and navy blue, then olive green in the 70s and 80s. The newest pattern (90s, 00s, 10s) are a grey/green colour which looks great. The RAF MK1, MK2 and MK4 are their own rabbit holes along with all the other obscure RAF gear from the 20th century.

Blade Runner came out in 1982 (also directed by Scott) but it definitely helped change the landscape for sci-fi fashion as well! I NEED to do blade runner soon, in time I swear

Great video as usual. That the characters wear some military pieces in their outfits is supposed to imply (I think, I haven't researched this, though I've seen the movie lots) that they've all had some military / weapons training for their work. Even though it's never made explicit, it helps the audience accept that they have some prep for dealing with emergencies, so it's not totally out of line for Dallas to go into the ventilation, and that Ripley has had hands-on training with a flamethrower and that crossbow thing. Bret's costume stands out because HDS sells it so well. IDGAF attitude, IDGAF style. Stanton, of course, said something like 90% of acting is just finding the right wardrobe.

I like the militaristic style in alien 3. The movie itself was just ok

I think I’ve only seen clips of Alien 3 but I remember thinking the wardrobe almost had an apocalyptic undertone as well that I liked. I gotta watch the full thing though. I eventually want to do all the Alien films to some degree because I think they always knocked it out of the park with wardrobe.
