The Romania being in Central Europe might actually surprisingly be true. Romania is the meetin point of Central Eastern and Balkan or Southern. Wallachia is in the Balkan, Moldavia is in Eastern and Transylvania in Central. But Transylvania is bigger than the rest which basically makes Romania more Central European. Other than a tiny minority of geography nerds, most people in all countries are ignorant about even basic geography. But the ignorance of the Americans gets displayed to the whole world, primarily because America is one of the few countries, everyone around the world knows at least a little bit about. For example, Cambodians don't care about Slovakians. No one in Cambodia is going to watch a KZbin video about Slovakians being bad at geography. No one in Ghana is going to watch a video about Paragauayns being bad at geography. But most people in all these countries still know a little bit about America to at least be able to laugh at Americans. So everyone ends up thinking that Americans are uniquely bad at geography when in fact that's not the case.
