Scammers are EXTREMELY COMMON HERE, I own a phone and half the time I get ads for things unrealated, and sometimes messages from random people in cryptic language. Man, I really feel sorry for you because GD Full doesn't even cost much! It's just a few dollars. Just. A few. Dollars. That's like... really small price for a game that big. We all should thank RobTop it costs just 5 dollars (2.5 in my country, Russia), and not... 40, 50, 60 like SEGA and Nintendo games. Super Mario Maker 2 costs 60 dollars! Sonic Superstars... also. Sonic Origins... 50. And for what? For 2D games that are not far away from GD. I remember when I was a kid, I also didn't have much money, but... I still made two decent purchases, one of which is a used PS3. So I can't imagine how bad it must be to not be able to buy something as cheap as Geometry Dash. (Though yeah... I remember me and my friends used to go to my school's library and play the geometry dash scratch version in our free time. Griffpatch introduced so many of my friends to geometry dash, which is awesome. In fact i'd even go so far to say that some of my friends ended up buying geometry dash solely because of their experience with the scrach version. As a Vietnamese who watched this video, this video blows my mind. The fact that a group/company in Vietnam make multiple fake Geometry Dash games and you also find a lot of loopholes is fascinating me. Now is this illegal in my country? Maybe? Vietnam has some weird laws when it comes to copyright issues. They recently blocked websites that hosting and pirating movies. Unless RobTop contacts to Vietnamese law enforcement or they have proofs that a group of people is doing copyright infringement, those people might get away with it.

I constantly saw these bootleg gamedumps as a kid when looking up obscure flash game sites in an effort to find new games I hadn't seen before, and I'd constantly run into these sites advertising games that simply weren't browser games (I was surprisingly tech savvy enough to know that some games couldn't just be played online). I didn't think much of them besides lamenting their sheer amount on the internet, but I could have never imagined how massive of an iceberg this was. I know you call yourself crazy for caring about this more than you think anyone should, but I'm honestly very thankful for people like you that investigate things like this. By diving deep into topics like this one you make discoveries that - in my opinion - are important for people to know. It's how bad actors like this Vietnamese plagiarism ring are caught.

Honestly, this video was so good, it kinda pains me you mostly sticked to Geometry Dash. I've never seen a full breakdown of fake game websites on KZbin, and I would find that a LOT more interesting than only having GD into consideration when looking into this rabbit hole, but maybe that's just me. This video is like my obsession with other ARGs similar to Petscop. It's so real, and getting every little detail is either a massive accomplishment or an anomaly. It's insane. Even during the video, I thought to myself: "Is this just another ARG? Am I watching an April Fools video?" But as someone who is still in school, and seeing other students consistently playing on these awfully made game websites, now I at least know where they're coming from. I’m making a 1.3 style level with an NCS song, just because of nostalgic purposes. Of course, EVERY single object is from 1.3 or before, so it would be extremely easy for Geometry Lite to steal this level. If that happens, it would probably be added as a Secret Level after xStep, and they would probably finally put that unused demon face to use for it. My level is called Feel Good, and the song is from NCS and has the same name. If Geometry Lite steals this, they would probably call it “Litestep” and they could freely steal it because I used a NO copyright song.

About that SubZero clone: Maybe it was made by or outsourced to a different person/group of people, possibly either made from scratch (not in Scratch though) or based off of a very early version of Geometry Lite. That would explain the initial lack of a menu/practice/pause and the different menu when it did get added. I remember back when most fake GD websites just hosted the Impossible Game Demo. (also i kinda want to try to out-geometry dash them and make my own recreation, but that'd firmly count as a copyright violation and i also don't really want to contribute to this mess)

my guess for why those objects were slightly different positions is because they ported them from gd *but* without full precision, instead deciding it'd be easier to round down to a certain level of precision to work with in their own software since if you needed to do any tweaks, having everything on a more strict grid rounded to a defined position is easier than having to move objects that are one or two pixels off the ground.

THIS is LITERALLY the video that I have been wanting to see for MONTHS! I have known about this particular game for a long time now. In fact, i’m pretty sure I commented about Geometry Lite in one of the community posts but whether you actually saw it or not, i’m still soo glad you made this video. I used to keep track of a lot of websites that hosted Geometry Lite, and there seems to be similarities with the ones that host GD Unity. That might suggest that they are made by the same person, but I might be wrong.

Also, remember that disclaimer that used to be in geometry dash io that said its a fan made version or whatever? Im not even kidding when I say that the EXACT SAME message is in EVERY SINGLE page that hosts GD Unity. Also, the code that redirects you to the games main page is present in GD Unity too, but that may just be a coincidence. I also know that the level in Egg Dash was DEFINITELY not made by them since many parts look like random parts from random robtop levels so its probably the same as XMAS dash which is just re-arranged versions of already existing levels.

That was really EPIC. Almost like playing an Ace Attorney case as it continuously got boring before the 40 minute mark. But AFTER THAT Oh boy, you nailed it bro, the pieces falling together and you constantly sharing your experience especially how when ever you'd have a part where it is like "this is the end of this game" boom! There is another and another which really put into perspective what you were going through. The most interesting part was probably when the adsense IDs were found and from there more and more websites were found, it almost felt like you are investigating some crime syndicate lol which is EPIC!
