Funny how although Standard Oil had a monopoly, it was the most efficient and cheapest way of extracting oil, transporting it, refining it and distributing it. During this, he paid workers more than the competition and continued innovating. I believe government broke up Standard Oil before there was a legitimate reason for it.

It's also why communism/socialism/fascism/marxism doesn't work. the government is the monopoly and can't hire everyone either. the biggest companies in the world can only hire what 1, 2 million people. we benefit from not having monopolies. competition is good.
