It is a terrible job, the metal dust gets into your skin, everything is heavy and awkward and you have to be very careful as it is really easy to make a mistake. From memory they are paid very well.

The polishing guys make between 1500 to 2000 per week. It's the average in l.a. if not they jump shop. They're more valuable than gold. Used to do it for 2 years. We call it l.a. coal mining lol Edit: most of them are independent contractors

I've been working with aluminum and tool steels for 34 years and I can tell you all shop dust is bad for you .....welding smoke.... torch smoke e.t.c is all bad for you but so is drinking and smoking and eating so just be careful and use your PPE's

So the forged blanks are from somewhere in California, same as where other brands in the US are buying you just design via CNC machine. The contrast with Japanese wheel factory is huge, in Japan Work wheels actually make their own alloy blanks. I still dont get why cost is so high, I assume media spend is huge budget for Rotiform.

I picked out a set of their multi-piece wheels that I liked for my 5 series. So I went thru the process of designing them and picked out pretty basic specs for 17' wheels for which they ended up costing $6,500. Poor video - instead of showing the people talking about what is happening, how about showing the actual process in motion. Every video on youtube about how things are made does the same thing. This is not good video for your subscribers, instead as the hosts are talking through the various processes, show that actual process being done, so we know exactly what that process looks like. This is a major problem with all youtubers! Get you act together, please! It's about the production process, not the host!

Jesus get the guys in the polishing department a downdraft table or two huh? All of that aluminum in the air is horrid. They should be wearing respirators at least, if not a fully supplied air system. You can see the masks that were probably white at some point totally caked with aluminum powder and sanding grit.

have I got an order for you 22.5 by 16 wide with 5 bolt ford pattern so I can run super singles on my pickup truck . I had a set years ago but we had to weld them up from Semi rims with flat plate centers not the best balanced wheel but man they are so big and look so cool on a old 60's pick up .

Interested to know how they make sure wheels are welded center. Ordered a set from one of Rotiform's competitors and they were so far out of round it was embarrasing. Had to send them back for re-centering... twice. (and they still weren't in round) =(
