Having seen Mount played at Chelsea under TT I see your point, but I feel like Amad might also bee a good shout. Specially with Mount's injury record.

100%. One of the best things about this I think is the flexibility for those forward positions. I can even see a scenario where Garnaco comes into one of those more central areas or even out wide when more attacking intent is required. But you’re spot on, Amad could definitely work there. Hello. I AM a Sporting fan and i can add some info. Ruben plays with left foot wingers in the right and right foot wingers on the left. And he sometimes plays with RB ir LB as Defenders in the 3-4-3. We his very impredictebel in the way he choose the Teams. Last season he played with 2 strikers even This season he have done that but One play more has midfielder. We never know what he do always changing the players but the tatic os always the same.

Brilliant is a euphemism for a guy who has his front 3 just wandering around out of possession and takes a shitload of speculative efforts with 7 guys in the box Even when its something like a coördinated press its basically just man to man, which has proven vulnerable in the premier league

I think that seems quite harsh but everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think you’re right about the league though and that some tactics will not be as effective, some adaptation is going to need to happen I would have thought. Thanks for watching mate!

I’d love it if he let Rashford be his 9, I’ve never been convinced about zirkzee, I think Hojlund has something about him but I really like Rashford and think the confidence boost of being the main man could help him lots. And since there’s no questioning his ability he could definitely put up 20 goals a season if he’s feeling confident.

your probably right but i do think Rashford is talented enough to have a successful season upfront under the right coach, I think he’d do better than zirkzee and probably hojlund even though I like him.

Hiya Z!! Great analysis of Amo’s tactics. Apart from a likely challenging first season or so, if things eventually work out , I could potentially see him having the sort of long term impact Guardiola has at City. Too early to say ***but I’m starting to dread how good Man U could be if Amo transfers his management skills successfully from Lisbon to Old Trafford***………..

Hello mate! Thanks a lot! I agree with you, there’s a different approach for the kind of manager that United are going for here and that’s one with a different kind of style, this could either really backfire or work quite well, as you say still far to early to know but we will have to wait and see. Plenty of managers have gone to Old Trafford with success previously and come out the other side looking much worse, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens. It'll be interesting to see how attacking he goes with the player profiles, how much they change from game to game. Will the wing-backs be full-backs or wingers? Would he rather play Garnacho or Antony than Mazraoui or Malacia? Tbh I think Dalot fits pretty well, he can get up and down, throw a step over and put a cross in. Players like Nuno Santos, Quenda and Geny seem more like wingers than full-backs tbh, but maybe he'll need to be more pragmatic in the PL - sometimes he did use the likes of Reis as the LWB. I think Shaw is someone who can easily switch between LCB and LWB. Similarly, I think you could maybe even play Mazraoui (or Casemiro?) as a RCB, as both are decent at playing progressive passes. In midfield, occasionally he played Goncalves in midfield - will we see that with Bruno? I think most of the time he will want more stability in there, so assume that will be Ugarte, Mainoo, Casemiro and maybe Eriksen. With the likes of Rashford, Garnacho, Antony and Zirkzee, it'll be interesting to see how they can fit into his front 3. A front 3 of Zirkzee, Rashford and Garnacho is very different to Højlund, Bruno and Mount for example - which is maybe more like Gyokeres, Goncalves and Trincao/Edwards. There's bound to be winners & losers from this formation. I do have quite a big question mark over Rashfords preferred position. He's not naturally a player that drifts into pockets of space as an attacking midfielder, he's used to keeping the width and then driving inside to shoot. Would he fit the roles behind the striker? Or do these roles adapt depending on the players available? Maybe if you play Rashford, it has to be with Zirkzee rather than Højlund, with Rashford running in behind and Zirkzee dropping into the pockets. Or Rashford as the striker, pushing the defence back with his runs, ahead of two attacking midfielders like Bruno and Mount/Amad. Ngl I can't wait for his first few games, to see how he sets up the team, how we perform and how quickly we can adapt.

First of all, fantastic comment mate, this is what I want, debate and really thought provoking conversation around the football topics on this channel👏 As for the player roles and profiles, I’m very similar to you, so intrigued to see his first games while also wondering about the players who do not naturally fit, but what I will say is this, the variety and breadth of talent in a squad is never a bad thing, one day for a more difficult opponent you might want defensive wingbacks, against others you could use wingers. Similarly in other positions it’s about finding the right balance within the side to get the best performance, something that he seems to be quite good at. It’s so very interesting and really exciting, can’t wait to see what happens. Thanks for watching mate!❤️

This is the same formation that Guardiola use to win Treble,he just pit wingers instead of wingbacks and the 2 no10s , Debryne and Gundogan seat deep from build-up and create an insanely attacking team by putting Silva snd Grealish on the flank whereby create lot's of goalscoring chance's for Harland,that gives him 50 easy goals

I think in United’s case when there’s a bit more stability the wingers come in as wingbacks as well. But you’re absolutely right about the formation, hopefully for United it can bring the same benefits. Thanks for watching mate!

For the big games the wingbacks you have gone for 100% but for the easier games antony and garnacho will be the two i feel, mount will be backup for bruno as his right inside forward trincao is similar to amad and does not play like mount in anyway.

Completely agree, funnily enough I actually think Antony could work as a Wingback, decent willingness to defend and can link play when he wants to. I really like the idea of Amad playing one of those 10 roles as well so yeah, works for me. Thanks for watching mate!

Swap Mazroui to RWB and bring in Amass for LWB and it would be perfect. I totally agree with leaving Rashford and Garnacho out; they should be played as impact subs.

it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the premier league and how the players adapt to him and his tactics, but i can see it going horribly wrong.

I think it’s more about he roles they fill currently, to be utilised in this system there will need to be a lot of adaptation from them both, so it remains to be seen wether then can make that adaptation. For United’s sake I hope they do. Thanks for watching mate!

This is true, but hopefully Amorim would be able to improve those traits somewhat. I do think there’s a decent player in Dalot and he’s got the physical attributes to be good, I think he just needs the right coaching to harness that. Thanks for watching mate!
