Yes Spurs were clearly the better side and Liverpool created no chances. Solanke wasn't offside and if they blew him off, they should have had evidence and not just guess, but there was no evidence of him being offside. Also Spurs messed up the double chance, so had they got that and the Solanke one, could have won 3-0. Liverpool also made a bad tackle on Solanke - Spurs up on his calf, which unlike Bergvall's tackle, was dangerous - so Liverpool were lucky to play with 11 men. Tottenham fan here. Definitely thought Bergvall was our MOTM, he was outstanding. Agreed on the fouls - first one not a yellow, second one should be for sure, so it balances out some. But I have to say, I thought the lads played their legs off in this one, clearly shattered the lot of them with the number of games they've had to play without backups, but they kept going anyway. I thought Archie Gray played a very assured game at the back too, given this was something like his fourth career appearance at centre back and he's only 18. As to the return leg, I think we might have a chance to make it a draw? We should have Romero and VdV back by then, which would mean Dragusin and Gray could get some rest, and Romero/VdV is our better pairing anyway. It's going to be a challenge, though, this is a ferociously good Liverpool side, who also looked pretty shattered by recent gameload.
