Habibi, you should try to play eu4 MP with the mods responsible blobbing and responsible warfare. Together they decrease the unit cap by a ton to more historical numbers, aswell and governing capacity by a lot, also to be more historical. Theyre mainly meant to just prevent insane and ugly AI blobs in singleplayer, but i think it would be super interesting to see how people would grapple with the restrictions and decreased army sizes in an MP lobby, and it would probably help to make lag a bit better in the late game, too.
@AbsoluteHabibi Жыл бұрын
Will look into this!
@d4s0n282 Жыл бұрын
a issue with that mod though I feel is that it just makes mp just not fun
@tuxtitan780 Жыл бұрын
@d40s0n well I think it would be unique and very different, atleast. No more massive economies in 1550, no more armies the size of countries by 1700, no more near infinite manpower after a certain point. I think it'd be very cool watching people actually have to manage governing capacity, and if they make one wrong move with their much smaller army, being put in a significantly worse position compared to normal MP where if you make a wrong move, you can normally recover. I think more struggling and more resourcefulness would come out of it, and I think it'd be really cool to see how radically different people would have to play, and how things which normally are overlooked and never super relevant would become the things everybody needs to pay attention to, otherwise their economy dies and they fall apart in a player war. I dunno, I just think it'd be cool to watch expansion be slower, diplomacy be much more important, warfare be much more strategic, and economies to be much smaller, allowing them to be sabotaged by other players easier.
@d4s0n282 Жыл бұрын
@@tuxtitan780 btw with this colonys are even more busted, but like I played it in mp, and the ones who could have PU or such were just the strongest, and yeah it was legit the most boring shit ever due to being punished
@tuxtitan780 Жыл бұрын
@@d4s0n282 fair, it would absolutely need balanced a good amount for it to be a decent playing experience, but when it would be, it would make for some really interesting gameplay imo. Idk, maybe im an outlier but just needing to be so much more careful and meticulous about your diplomacy, while seriously needing to weigh all of your options at all times otherwise youre punished just seems like itd be super interesting in MP. Watching the same old expanding like crazy, building an insane economy, expanding super rapidly again, then making a massive army and fighting wars by sending millions of soldiers into one or two battles which take 10 minutes to finish, since by that time the game is laggy as hell, it just gets boring after a while. Dont get me wrong, its still entertaining, but it really does just seem like every single eu4 MP game follows the exact same pattern from start to finish, and subject management/ usage and diplomacy with other nations is never quite as important as it should be, and diverging from that pattern would be pretty cool to see happen atleast once.

You could also play around with reducing or just not increasing Combat Width in the Lategame. It does sound strange but it could give you more impactful fights with less troops. Currently you kinda need 100k stacks due to combat width so decreasing forcelimit and manpower could lead to less combat stacks which could change the flow of war. Allowing players to fill up stacks with less men while having less man overall could give you a nice balance.

Stupid question- how do multiplayer eu4 players end up having almost a million men in 1500s? Is that just from devving?
@AbsoluteHabibi Жыл бұрын
Great question. The key to reach millions of men that early comes down to: -high level of man efficiency -min maxing developing (focusing on military points development) -buying barracks and soldiers households -stacking manpower modifiers from ideas, mission tree, estates (specially the nobility estate that has the percentage manpower policy) I have a video for developing and scaling, you can watch it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6Wwead5iZ6Fi6ssi=Twt8yG5omcS_IcKU
