Aww, this made my day ❤️ Congrats on your soon-to-be puppy! It’s such a special time, and I’m so excited for you. Puppies bring so much joy and a little bit of chaos (in the best way!). Thank you for sharing this-it means so much to know Willa and I can bring some happiness to your day. Wishing you all the best on this new adventure!

Awww so lovely to see her snuggled up enjoying cuddles. Well done u on your marathon and we’ll done Willa for her constant encouragement. I was teary on quite a few occasions listening to your journey. We have a 5 month old Vizsla who I know will transform our family life for the better. So excited to see how our journey unfolds 💕🐾

As soon as I set up the tripod in that room she knows we are filming 😆 it's so sweet! Wow I didn't know that! It is such a unique feeling to run for that long of a distance though, feels like you can run forever, like your body was built for it!

Looking forward to this! My vizsla is 9 months, working on heel in preparation for running/biking

Hang in there. We felt the same but now at 8 months it is better. As my wife says, he won’t have to go to boarding school, 😊

The running training took a while for Willa, she kept trying to run between my legs and trip me haha so the heel command is important! But the biking only took about 3 tries and she figured it out right away. Biking is one of her favourite activities now!

Cass, Boone our 7 month old Vizsla is laying across me as I watch this video. I admire those that take care of their minds and bodies. You are obviously doing both. Part of getting Boone after having a Weim was to keep me active. We walked tonight in cold temps but it is always good. I understand the benefit of exercise for our mental benefit as well. Thanks for your videos! Tim

Awh thank you Tim 🙏Vizslas are such incredible companions, and I love that you’re embracing those walks even in the cold. Exercise truly does wonders for both our minds and bodies. Give him some extra pets from me and Willa! I appreciate you watching and connecting-your kind words mean so much!

Definitely a normal feeling! The teen rebellion hit the hardest for us, but it does get better! Stick to your training, playtime, lots of walks and new adventures and they will become the best dog you've ever had ❤

How old Willa was when you started running with her? Our Vizsla is 8 Months old and I read different opinions about when to start (Most say you should not begin before 1 year)
@puckghijsen20215 күн бұрын
Not before one year. 15 months would be even better! We will wait until she’s 15 months before starting to train with her
@timmartin495214 күн бұрын
Is the rule of thumb 5 minutes of walking for every month of age? A website called Summit Vizsla has some good information on Vizslas, at least I think so.

I took Willa to an open green space when she was about 8 months, I'd run from one end to the other (with her on leash) and every time she would run between my legs and trip me. We would reset to heel and try again. It took a few months for her to not get too hyper and lose control when I would start running. We didn't do a full run until about a year, but we built on the basic commands earlier than that so she could learn where she was supposed to be during the run. This training was super important when we trained her on running beside the bike. We trained for the Marathon at 1.5 years old!

@@BecomingADogOwner yeah we did sort of the same thing. Bits of running during the walk so she would learn not to bit the leash or jump towards us.
