Russia almost always had India's back and USA always had Pakistan's back as they are like there loyal dogs they tell them to do something they do it and they give them the best weapons they have like F-16 and then USA complaints that we don't buy from them, we buy from Russia. Dude whenever we asked for weapons in the past you said no and gave the best to our enemies and now suddenly you want us to be on your side and buy weapons from you while you are still helping our enemies from the back channels. The target was to reach 25billion dollars of trade by 2025 and that was 2 yrs ago, but here we are now in 2024 at roughly 66billion dollars of trade Russia and India have always had good relations except during Stalin, that sentiment is mirrored by the people as well in both countries. That's why Indians tbh think Russia is way more reliable than say someone like US, Russia always has had our back and has a lot of respect for us and does not irritate us by needling us about our country's internal matters publicly. Let me help you with a little bit by telling you what USA does and has been doing with multiple countries Firstly they don't want any country to grow, or if they let anyone grow they want to to take part in their decision making directly or indirectly so that it is in USA's favour. Secondly, they do this from the time we (India) got independence, they don't give us any weapons or take our side , which is very important as from the day Pakistan was made we have been in war with them but USA doesn't help us. They do the opposite they give them weapons and other kinds of help like financially either by getting loans approved or giving weapons in less cost to letting them export their stuff easily. So if someone is arming our opponent what are we supposed to do wait to get hit or buy weapons from someone else and that someone else was Russia for us. Till date USA has not been on our side now a days they keep saying that they are on our side because we are the only one's who can counter china. But they still keep supplying more money and arms to Pakistan so that we don't get ahead of them. They support pakistan to stop us, they act like they support us to counter china , but they just want the all these countries stay unstable so that they don't grow. That's like in a nutshell there's a lot more. 😂😂
