HOW'S THIS FOR A STRAIGHT PIPE EXHAUST?

In this video, I get the mini to be a bit more vocal than before. With the stock Mini exhaust, it makes some noises, but definitely not enough for my liking.
Since this video, I went ahead and pulled trigger on these exhaust tips, because I’m not sure how I feel about the ones I got welded on ▶︎ amzn.to/2ouhKIo
I’ve got a lot of mini mods on the way, but one of the next ones that is going to be good is the cat-less 2.5” downpipe. Its really going to make the turbo breathe easier, and really change the exhaust note.

This is the first of your vids I've seen and It made me subscribe👍🏻 My sister had a 2010 mini base and totaled it before she got her license 😭 it was our dream car and I really wish it would've been mine... But I'm gonna be getting my first car in a two years and I've already found great deals on manual transmission mid-2000's Mini S and JCW's. I have an 03 MCS and I did a one ball mod, but before I put the muffler back on I took it for a ride. I became somewhat addicted to the (what some would call obnoxious) sound. I delayed putting the muffler on for a week or so. But eventually got around to putting the muffler back on.. It's one of those things that make me a little self conscious, especially driving thru the neighborhood or past police. And I simply don't have the money and time to get an exaust that's perfect. Anyway, I found what I think the perfect solution for what I need. I got a muffler cutout on eBay for $60. But I made a mistake by assuming 2.25 meant that it would fit on my existing 2.25 pipe. Someone said somewhere that the manufacturers tend to measure from the inside which would make it bigger. So I borrowed one of those flanges/pipe spreader. Broke one and wrench the other one as far as I could. Still wasn't big enough for the cutout y pipe. Couldn't get it in more than 1/2". Then proceeded to fucked up the pipe before the muffler because I figured I could cut some of that one down to make it fit and was gonna hope the tightness and clamp would keep the 1/2" in. So now I gotta spend more money I really don't have to get this thing on. My question is, what is a cheap alternative to the cutout that would just tone the car down a bit, without losing the fun afressive sound? I heard someone say a cherry bomb muffler maybe. Or a baffle.. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a question for you, my car came without a turbo heat shield , and after a drive the hood seems a bit hot , i looked online and i couldn't find a OEM heatshield , could you possibly have any ideas ? thanks man

My 2011 Cooper is straight piped with a catless downpipe. You’ll want a muffler for sure. It’s obscenely loud.

Yk you getting a faster velocity at a smaller diameter right? 2.5” dual is meant for ~500(I wanna say 540 but I’d have check them book I have) I plan on using a 2” duals closer to the engine and a 2” xpipe that’s supports up to 250

Awesome sound man. I love watching your videos. Got a question though about the sound. I know around here there are restrictions on how loud a car can be on the track. Where I live, Belgium, at Circuit Zolder it's 95dB, Spa is 103dB and my favourite of all, Nurburgring also has a 95dB sound limit. (Not sure if they actually check it or if it't just something they have to put on there for environmental reasons). I don't know what yours produces now but it sounds damn loud ;D Do you have any regulations on that matter? Keep up the great work!

What happens if you only remove the resonator? Will it pop more but just a little quieter?

It will be louder than stock, but not as loud as a downpipe, resonator & muffler delete.

Cool. Looking forward to seeing you rip it around the track after all this time you have had it. Have fun and be careful. That's a very small car and not sure how forgiving it would be in a wreck. Just saying because no matter what you do in motorsports racing of any kind, eventually you will have a crash depending on how hard you push it. I know the Accord happens to be very forgiving in a wreck. Be safe my man and your a smart kid so I know you got the right gear for safety just remember take baby steps on the track. Totally different car the the Accord so give yourself plenty of time to warm up and get used to it and everything once you get it on the track. Try to race it as much as possible so your very in tune with how it handles because it's totally different from your daily.

That smoke, does your car do that after a long idle or when you get into boost a lot? Wondering what the cause could be. My r56 does it. I’ve already replaced the valve cover (pcv/ccv) and added a catch can. Thinking it’s valve stem seals or carbon build up. Car sounds great by the way

Absolutely!! The Cooper S's have one more catalytic converter than the JCW's (which is what I have) which might be why I had a bit of popping even with the stock exhaust.
