Savithri is born as my relatives . This story I read 1900 times in my youth when I read Siva puranam brought from Giri Trading Agency. In youth I wished that I Should beget son by austerity. I read the character of Arundhati 1000 times I really met Guru mother Arundhati as councellor Amala in Turning point foundation.

Did Yama suffer any consequences for failing in his responsibility? Just bcoz he got wowwed by her devotion doesn't mean he should give the husband her soul back. Also, what if everyone who hears the story does exactly what Savitri did to escape death of their family members. I think this is just a story that emphasizes if you are devoted, good things will happen. Happens only once not always.

This is not correct, Firstly Savitri did not cheat And secondly, after Yama took Savitri's Husband's soul she started following him and to get to get rid of her Yama told her to ask for anything in boon but not her Husband's soul, So she asked for her Father's eye sights, Yama granted her the broom but She kept following him so Yama told her to ask for another boon so she asked for her Father's Kingdom to be given back to him, Yama granted the boon thinking she will go back, but she still kept following him and now they had reached the gates of YamLoka and Yama told her that no mortal soul can go further than that and that she has to go back now so he told her to ask for one last boon than Savitri asked in boon to have 100 children, and Yama who was fed up with her at that moment granted the boon without thinking about it and than Savitri told Yama that how can she have children without her Husband, As Yama had already granted the boon he had to give back her Husband's soul.

My only disappointment (lil) with the narrator of the video is that she speaks like a foreign man, she is definitely Indian however her pronunciation of certain words is so wrong and it bothers me. However I’m enchanted to hear all the hindu saga videos as it makes me so happy. Please work on it, it’s just a positive feedback and not criticism. Please don’t say like सत्यवन it’s सत्यवान.
