Menopause is not this cliff where every woman’s health bottoms out, and it’s ignorance that is perpetuating this. The body is not malfunctioning when it goes through menopause. I think this constant negativity is the result of 1) a crappy Western diet, 2) lack of exercise, 3) the general ignorance about the female body in general, and 4) this idea that a woman’s value is in her youth and fertility. Women are so much more than baby-makers.

I dont mind the idea of delaying menopause if the choice is available to women. I'm currently taking care of my disabled mom, have a full time job(s), and take care of a household. The last couple of years have been incredibly difficult on all fronts both professionally and personally. Trying to find a partner who is compatible with you and you with them, would like to have a long tem relationship, have children and reasonable future goals is difficult enough and it takes time. It would be nice not to have a looming clock over us pointing out our fertility, I already get that from friends, coworkers, strangers, doctors, or family asking me when will I give them a baby. When I do have baby, I want to have it with someone I have full confidence in and love not just rush through it. If it means I have to continue with periods thats fine there are worse things in life but the opportunity to extend the possibility of having a family with someone you love, while being financially stable and being able to provide a wonderful home to that baby is worth thinking about.

@LauraB.3358 ай бұрын
What’s playing with the biological clock already is all the crap we eat. It has brought on menstruation in girls earlier and earlier and women have got fertility issues (PCOS) due to it, go through menopause earlier, and deal with symptoms that should be there at all because our hormones are so out of whack from not eating enough animal protein and fat and from eating too much processed food, sugar, and seed oils.

Delay puberty, delay menopause, why not just accept reality that life has changes.
@LauraB.3358 ай бұрын
Because both puberty and menopause are coming earlier and earlier due to all the crap we eat and the nutrition lies we’ve been told. It’s important to eat animal protein and fat for healthy hormones, and it’s important to eat fewer carbs less often and either eliminate or minimize sugar, grains, processed food, and seed oils. When women who have been struggling with fertility for decades (PCOS, etc) do this, they become pregnant. Women who are going through menopause, reverse hot flashes, weight gain, etc. I know my hot flashes went away almost immediately when I stopped eating so many carbs and processed food.
