I actually enjoyed the movie version of Sexy quite a bit. It worked for the context it was in and for me was a better change up than many of the other songs

I did appreciate that the dance break part was the same amount of time as the original. When I saw the movie my brain was filling in the original instrumental and I was shocked and pleased when the "Happy Halloween" happened in my head the same time it happened on screen

Mine did the same for I'd Rather Be Me because it's probably forever going to have a special place in my heart because it's how I got into mean girls. I had heard a bit of meet the plastics before it but I'd rather be me was the one that piqued my internet and peaked my Spotify wrapped for the year which at this point I wouldn't find too surprising if it happened again but there's still far too long before it comes out to tell for sure (I can and do listen to songs 3000 times in a month when I want to so my wrapped is never certain)

Thanks for making this! I loved Avantika’s performance of this song (I’d even say I liked her better than the broadway) but I also liked the instrumentals of the broadway version.

This goes for not only the song, but the movies perception of Karen as well…Karen was overly dumb to the point where it was obvious she was trying too hard, and for Sexy, it’s not supposed to be seriously sexy, it’s supposed to be fun and lighthearted. I liked the disco and the song in general in the movie, but for the context it didn’t work because Karen was extremely over sexualized and she was usually too dumb, but for the second part of Sexy, she wasn’t dumb enough she looked like she knew exactly what she was doing. No hate I love Avantika and this wasn’t her fault, I just think the director and creative team completely missed the point of the song.
