Ava's reading skills are very good and it is nice to hear her speak Hindi. In many English speaking countries, most Indian kids cannot speak their language. I think one of the reasons that Indian kids do not know their language is because in these countries people always tell immigrant children that they are lucky because the country they are now living in is first world and so most Indian kids do not want to know anything about India, Indian culture or language. The use of first world is very common in English speaking countries. People will complain about something and say - oh, it is a first world problem. Another problem is that many Indian parents encourage their children to speak only English because they are scared that their children may not learn the English accent of that country and they also feel proud that their children speak like Americans or British. I have met Indians (especially from South India) who call their children American because they were born there. I find such people very annoying because in these countries Indian children are called Indians by the local people and not American or British.
