This is very inspiring. I work in a call center here in the Philippines for almost 5 years now. Back then when I just started taking calls servicing customers based in the US, I used to get questions like where are you located, I don't understand what you're saying etc. But that's not the case now because most of my customers are wondering how I sound like a native speaker knowing that I've been doing this for only 5 years and it really is nice to hear. Having watched this video makes me want to continue what im doing to sound more like an American. Thumbs up!

To be honest, all the tips she mentioned in the video are exactly the methods I have been using for years in English learning and accent reducing. And sometimes even native English speakers would think I am from the States. I am from Taiwan. Of course , I still have a lot to learn and to improve. I will keep trying hard.. The only difference is that I have never stayed in an English speaking country over than one month. So most of the knowledge that I learned about English, I learned myself. I love Lisa's teaching videos so much and it helps me a lot too. Thank you , Lisa. I wish I could have you as my teacher in person so I can definitely improve more and get to the next step to get better.

I am hispanic and I'm currently working at a assisted living place ( elderly care) My assignment is in the memory care area. The good thing is that I've been learning pretty much English through people with Alzheimer's dementia. They have been able to realize my learning process. They always say to me, girl Don't give up! Even though your are not a native speaker, It is amazing the way you are pronouncing the most difficult sounds such as: R, L, short vowels and some consonants ( tʃ, ð, ŋ, ʒ, θ, ʃ and so on) as much practice you get as much you get better. They always say.

By the way Greek people have more difficulties to learn other languages than other nationalities,,talking about pronunciation! This young lady did a very good job! 👍👍

Hi you there! I've just come back to my country after a long term English Course I took overseas. It was my dream, go abroad and study English again. But after that, I was quite concerned about my pronunciation. I had learnt a large vocabulary, but I luck of good pronunciation. As an Spanish native speaker I have to face way challenges with phonics, for instance, with the sounds of the T, R, TH and many others. So, I went on a kick about this topic. I started being a self-taught and fortunately, I found your channel that It's amazing. Despite time flies, now I'm 41 years old, I'm still put in a great effort every day. Thanks for sharing that vital motivation!!!!

Hi teacher, this is the correct way to improve our accent now I am doing practice imitate and shadowing a lot of native speakers I read aloud every day TEDx talk transcript and next day I read aloud simultaneously record my voice and compare my voice and front of the person's voice I get it a little bit different I read aloud near about one hour day and fifteen to twenty minutes I do shadowing practice every day these ways is awesome because of I have seen my improvement I always watch accent and pronunciation videos and imitate front native speakers like this all over the English learners should do the practice consistent and persistent. Thanks, Lisa ma'am this type of video you Illuminated. Thx for giving crucial information. This type of lesson is always authentic.

Yes, I agree with her since I have been studying English with online methodology. And I know that is very important to practice each English skill every day in order to get confidence when a person want to talk with English speakers. Listen to audio over and over not matter if you don't understand enything, since your brain needs to process the new information. The more important thing is the discipline, to practice by your selft as well and keeping in mind her pieces of advice. :)
