The Adivasi people of the Eastern Ghats have shaped the history of South India-as well as the history of Hinduism itself. Anirudh Kanisetti explores the medieval temples of Ahobilam and Draksharamam to understand how.

@@yj9032 what you mean by "your religion"? Can you please explain what is Hinduism and so called adivasi religion. Once you start defining them you will get know they are not different. Most of the adivasi practices and gods are not different from so called "Brahminical" religion. It's just natural advancement to so called "adivasi" religion like slowly it got structured, organised and advancement in literature, philosophy, architecture, science etc. Problem is leftists and missionaries(starting from British rule) try to divide Hindus in every way possible and we stupids beleive them. They even manufactured separatism in Sikhs, and also Aryan and Dravidian seperatism.

Interesting story as always man!! Nice to see history from a historian and not from a politician turned pseudo-historian who can’t even pronounce names properly. There are several history channels like these which I hate.

Your narrations are very good Anirudha. Good choice of words. God bless you. Just slow down a bit as I feel the narration a bit too fast. Hope you take my suggestion in good spirit.

Good to see the flanking book pillars gone in this pillar gods story. In fact, gentle storytelling might be more a suitable and engaging format than rapid thesis narration.

Is there a commonality with respect to temple architecture in the deccan or south india. If so how many can be attributed to gods of pre vedic, vedic or post vedic dieties and thence can one draw conclusions 'ambiguous' or not to worshippers coming from migrations of indo aryan people?.

Seems that finally the so called forum has found the significance and acknowledged the presence of the importance spiritual temples in the telugu states , should have been good if the car so called reviewer would have transcended down to this place and provided review!! need to see if there are more temples get covered as part of the upcoming "lords of deccan" or some other medium covers it!!

Can you also mention about the the Gudimallam temple, I see similarities between draksharamam and gudimallam, and is there a link between Pashupati seal of Harrappa and these pillar dieties ? all over the world we see pillar worship or monolith worship, what's the link ? infact there is an Australian aboriginal story which claims a pillar appeared and then all living entities came out of that pillar, please dig deeper.
