Afzal Khan was a big enemy during that time. He got orders from Adil Shah to kill Shivaji Maharaj because Shivaji's power was increasing. Afzal was smart and strong, and he knew about Shivaji Maharaj's tactical skills. His first move was to destroy temples to disturb Shivaji Maharaj, and he destroyed many temples. But even then, Shivaji Maharaj made decisions calmly. Shivaji knew that Afzal Khan liked to boast about himself. So, Shivaji Maharaj wrote a letter to Afzal Khan pretending to be afraid of him and refused to meet him. Afzal Khan believed that Shivaji Maharaj was scared, so he came down to the base of Pratapgad. This was because once he was at the base, it would be hard for him to escape. Shivaji Maharaj already knew that Afzal Khan was not trustworthy. Before they met, Maharaj hid a secret weapon called "wagh nakha" and wore armor to protect himself. The meeting was set for 2 in the afternoon, so Shivaji Maharaj wouldn't be seen in the sunlight while coming down from the fort. They set up a meeting area at the base of Pratapgad. When they met, Afzal Khan pretended to hug Shivaji Maharaj but suddenly stabbed him with a knife. Thankfully, Shivaji Maharaj's armor kept him safe. Angry, Shivaji Maharaj hit Afzal Khan in the stomach with "wagh nakha," and this caused Afzal Khan's death as his intestines and kidney came out due to the attack.

Even Shivaji Maharaj's only 2 bodyguards (as per pact of meeting only 2 personal bodyguards were allowed at the place of meeting) were chosen in such a way that they will counter the bodyguards of Afzal Khan... The way he dressed the stealth weapon that is वाघ नख or tiger's claws was specifically designed in such a way that when the hand is closed it only looked like diamond or precious stones wore in hand as a ring... He wore iron mesh at back to protect himself from back stabbing (He just knew the nature of Afzal Khan) Maharaj simply planned everything so perfectly that location, time everything favoured him against all adversaries and limitations of his low number of soldiers... yes, it's a good observation by you and i agree. the guest is an expert and his understanding of his own domain need not be dumbed down by the host with unnecessary and irrelevant metaphors like the ipl. Viewers/listeners are intelligent enough to understand the gist of things. that was also a bit condescending of the host to interrupt the expert like that and add his own silly commentary that no one asked for. also, one shouldnt expect a non-native Hindi speaker to have native level Hindi if one doesn't speak even a full sentence of Marathi themselves despite being a "Mumbaikar" all their life.
