hello, I was very impressed with your concise but valid and specific information. I am curious, as I was not given any instructions at all and yet had a 3 part artho-hip surgery 2 weeks ago: FAI, labrum sutures, and debridement, and yet I am 49 years of age and have been walking with full weight 1 week post-op, will the sutures cause for my native labrum tissue to tear from use as the sutures are not flexible? I am not sure the centimeters of the tear but it was from 2-3 o'clock anterior side and no anchors were used.

@@umit777. Hello. The hip function and feeling in it depends on various factors. What is your age? When does yours hurt? When does it feel better? So first of all, any hip surgery requires moving the femur away from the pelvic and the action damages the whole hip. Any work modifying the hip is quite likely to cause permanent issues with the smoothness during motion so one doctor told me labral tears are common and normal. I regret my surgery based on my prior function being(like school grade): 90% good during exercise, 20% sitting, lying down dependent on position. My post surgery is now: 30% activity(much worse), and still maybe 25-30% sitting, lying down variable. What you need is a expert doctor not afraid to teach you and inform you. #2: exhaustive testing to verify issue which may be difficult to pay for. #3 Physical therapist to give you his opinion. Overall things can get a lot worse with repair surgery or perhaps better if you are younger or have "young" hips. Its kind of like a tire repair. If the tire is not that old and puncture is in the right place, a repair can occur and help much but if the tire is thin and/or the damage is severe then since the material is already thin and degraded, a repair will not be strong and will cause more issues than good. Also not last for many years before full replacement is needed anyways.

​@@jamesmedina2062 thank you this answer. I scared this if I do this surgery and it maybe worse.. lm 39. And l have any labral tear and inpingement in my right hip. I dont sit lon time because a strong pain near the my hip. How l dont know What l do

I hope you see this 2 years later. Did they have you use a CPM machine. My doc wants me to but it seems like a controversy among health providers. I may be non-weight bearing up to 6 weeks. My doc also gave me little info prior to surgery although I call and ask. Surgery in 5 days.
